Our good friend Michael Moore was on Bill Maher the other nite promoting his new movie, and he criticized Capitalism by claiming that statistically, one guy has nine pieces of the economic pie in America, while the other nine people have to fight over the remaining piece. Nice try, but we've already been over that in this room, and I know what you folks would say: What's your point? That's the way America became great. Those other guys just need to bake their own pie. Am I wrong? Well, JD, pick your poison: live in a society where you can chart your own course or let the government become your boss. History has shown that man would rather have freedom. Interesting how MM turned teach a man to fish turned into baking a pie. But looking at MM, it is certainly no surprise that he prefers Pie. So, yeah, I'm gonna ask the rhetorical: What's your point? Other than you enjoy being silly and antagonistic.

S**t, old age sucks. Help me out, JG.

Borrego Solar teams up with SD Community College DistrictBy Daily Transcript staff report Friday, September 25, 2009 The San Diego Community College District has approved a 20-year agreement with Borrego Solar to construct and maintain a photovoltaic system for the district. The photovoltaic program calls for the solar panels to be installed on building rooftops, parking structures and atop new solar panel shade structures on parking lots throughout the district. Borrego Solar, a national solar power contractor based in El Cajon, will provide about 2.4 megawatts of green energy across the district. The system will be financed through a Power Purchase Agreement that will enable the district to access and use solar-generated energy, without the upfront capital costs or operational expenses.Under the agreement Borrego Solar would build, operate and maintain the solar system, and sell the generated solar energy back to the district at rates approximately 18 percent below those of San Diego Gas & Electric, according to the district.www.sddt.com/Construction/article.cfm?SourceCode=20090925cybFull Article included. << This sounds really good but note it is "Power Purchase Agreements" and "Competition" for SDG&E - Sempra Energy... We will have to watch how it goes and catches on in the market place! >>

Car sales without crutchesCommentary: Hyundai out front in race back to the future By MarketWatch SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- September car sales didn't miss a beat, picking up pretty much where they left off before the ballyhooed "cash-for-clunkers" program propped up the industry for several glorious weeks this summer. Back in the real world, the numbers were predictably grim for those struggling the most ahead of the rebate program, and predictably bright for those that continue to offer value to a financially traumatized public. There are those who will argue that things could have been worse. General Motors sales plunged 45% compared with a year ago, but that's better than the 50% analysts had predicted. See September car sales. Still, it's not good. And it comes less than a day after GM's deal to sell Saturn to Penske Automotive Group /quotes/comstock/13*!pag/quotes/nls/pag (PAG 16.20, +0.08, +0.50%) fell apart, relegating Saturn to the growing heap of GM's unsalvageable parts. Chrysler fared only slightly better, with sales falling 42% instead of 50%, as feared, but the story remains the same. Chrysler appears to be caught in a slow, painful vanishing act, and it's far from clear whether Fiat /quotes/comstock/23g!f (IT:F 9.48, +0.69, +7.79%) -- struggling on its own in a tough global market -- can resuscitate the brand. But if public sentiment is any indicator, Fiat should save its breath. In the search for bright spots, Ford Motor Co. /quotes/comstock/13*!f/quotes/nls/f (F 6.94, -0.03, -0.43%) is a shining example that there are still benefits to staying out of bankruptcy court. While its September car and pickup sales fell 5% from year-ago levels, that was also far better than the 13% decline analysts had predicted, giving Ford's PR machine enough material to tout its continued market share gains -- up another 2% last month. >>>> Among the more startling trends is the continued rise of Korean car maker Hyundai /quotes/comstock/11i!hymlf (HYMLF 66.60, -66.60, -50.00%) , whose September sales jumped 27% from a year ago. In the post-clunkers marketplace, that's quite an achievement that shows either good product value or just how sober-minded Americans have become when sizing up their automotive needs. Most likely, it's both. -- Jim Jelter, corporates editor www.marketwatch.com/story/car-sales-without-crutches-2009-10-01

I honestly think it is a result of increased internet access and the ...blogosphereofBS out there. I choose to watch Fox news as it makes me feel that I see both sides of the issue more so than the MSM alphabet club but I also realize I have a bias ear to satisfy! I think the Internet allows people to see more of a clear picture. They are realizing the lack of content MSM provides. Fox News Channel will continue to grow its viewership due to this. After saying that - the Internet makes it easier (at this point in time - before google, et al, start filtering our content) to research topics immediately. Audio and Visual stimulus are still important to many people though. There is nothing like those videos of the Thugs at the Townhall meetings to bring the American pubic out of their drugged state of unconsciousness. I agree, the Internet (should we be thanking algore?) has opened up communication some good, some bad, some factual, some downright lies; but, we, the people (Internet users and bloggers) can sift through and read multiple views and draw conclusions.

A story of a man and his wife. True story.
My wife had a hard time trying to understand why Obama's plan to "spread the wealth" was unfair.
She couldn't see what was wrong with taking from those who have and giving to those who don't have, so what I did was I simplified it for her.
She's a woman that prides herself on education. She's working on a PhD at Vanderbilt and she makes excellent grades.
I said, "What if you made a hundred on a test and another guy in your class made a 60? You have a high passing mark and this guy has a failing mark.
Would it be fair to take 20 of your points, bring you down to an 80, give the 20 to the guy that made the 60 and bring him up to 80 and everything is equal?"
She said, "No."
I asked, "Why?"
She said, "Because I earned that grade."
I said, "Don't you think rich people earned the money that they get?"
And so she was speechless. She couldn't say anything. She'd said, "No, I earned it."
I said, "Think about it, Baby. "You're bringing a guy up from a failing grade to a passing grade, and we are going to bring you down to his level."
I said, "Now you apply that type of example with everybody in the classroom, everybody being the dumper. Nobody would ever get out of your class because everybody would have a failing grade."
So she then understood the point I was trying to make.
