Just a suggestion-why don't you eliminate some of the threads nobody has posted on in weeks? It would make for a cleaner opening page.Just a suggestion. Bruce, thanks for the feedback - I can do that but here are some of the considerations. The posters on the deleted threads would have their post count decremented. In other words, if your post count was 50 and a thread was deleted were you had 5 post, your post count would be reduce to 45. From my observations on other boards post counts are important to many and encourage posting. Deleted threads do not impact karma. I do monitor the views, there may not be any fresh post to a thread but the older thread view counts continue to slowly increase. I can set a switch for the number of threads per page but the number of pages is infinite. Let’s see how it goes, if anyone has input please post.

Thanks, didn't realize it would play havoc with the count. Now that I think about it,of course the count would be lost.

CM,
View the "20" most recent posts made at San Diego Scene.
I noticed the change from 15 to 20. With the increased activity on this blog, it's usually the first thing I click on when I check in here.
Good Job!

CM,
Can you bump up the "View the ## most recent posts made at San Diego Scene" to 30 or so?
Lot's of activity here lately and it's an easier way to catch up than having to go thread to thread.

How do I put my photo or an avatar on? Bruce, Login, click on “profile” (in the box under the SD Scene picture,) or you can click on your name, click on “Modify Profile.” Scroll down to Avatar, you can select from the drop-down or use your own avatar. To select an avatar that is provided, click on the down arrow and a list will drop down. or To use a custom avatar, enter the URL in the box just to the right of label “Avatar URL:” Scroll to the end of page and click the button “Modify Profile.” You are done. You can also put a picture in your signature. I believe Rocket has done so. If you want to use a custom avatar and need additional help let me know.

Thanks for reinstating my status. It was a miserable day as my computer went down at 8AM,I took it to the computer shop at 9,got it back at 1:30 and spent the rest of the day reinstalling. However when I come on here,it asks me to log in each time. Before I was permanantly logged in.Is that because I went back to IE from Firefox?Anyway thanks for the help,I actually missed not going on and helping VOR out.

Bruce, No problem. As a retired software engineer I remember vividly sheer overwhelming panic when I would have a hardware problem. I’ve always used a desktop, laptops were frowned upon by software developers, but about 2 years ago, I got a Dell Precision M4300, the little sucker is loaded with everything Dell had to offer. It is light, small yet the screen is large enough for my old eyes, I love it now all my desktops are collecting dust. Your login data is stored on your hard drive, I believe you mentioned in another post you reformatted your drive, your data was destroyed. Additionally IE and Firefox manage the stored data differently. You can use both browsers without issues; once the data is stored it will be there for your next visit. My recommendation is Firefox, with very few exceptions Firefox will out perform IE hands down. Our board is best viewed in Firefox.

CM,
Is there a way to put a display on the main page indicating who is currently in the chat room?
If possible, it would be an easier way to check than having to go through the process of logging into the chat room.
Just a thought.

Good thought, the chat feature is offered by third or after market, pick your pleasure. Chat is feature rich, notifications can be achieved via many avenues anything above what we have comes with a fee. The minimum fee is as little as $7.00 per month, upwards. When our membership grows I would gladly fork over the change (fee) we can believe in. I am able to write Java script and embed prior to the home page loading, unfortunately to achieve, I have to engage brain cells that prefer to remain dormant. Nevertheless I’ll plead our case to the powers above and see what we can do.

CM,
I just noticed that "EscapeHatch" doesn't show up in the "Active users in the past 24 hours" section.
