Is there a way you can indicate in the main page "info center" who is currently in the chat room?

Is there a way you can indicate in the main page "info center" who is currently in the chat room? good question, i've been looking for some way to notify users, i'm sure there is a method i'll keep looking. i'm really impressed with all the features on the board and to think it is a freebie.

CM,
I noticed that there is a time out feature for the chat room. I opened a new tab, logged into the chat room, made a comment and noticed that when I came back after a lengthy period I was timed out. Can this feature be adjusted?

CM, I noticed that there is a time out feature for the chat room. I opened a new tab, logged into the chat room, made a comment and noticed that when I came back after a lengthy period I was timed out. Can this feature be adjusted? Thanks for noticing this is exactly the kind of feedback necessary to improve this board. Chat is something I feel will set this board apart from others. The majority of the documentation is only available when I login in as moderator; I’ve tried to limit moderator time because I do not want anyone thinking big brother is watching, I’m assuming moderator is visible as any other member. That leaves me with late night or early morning hours. There are pages and pages of documentation and I have avoided reading the documentation under “Upgrade” as upgrade implies a price tag, perhaps that is the lure. I’m truly impressed at the features and easy of use for a freebie. This surpasses my expectations as a forum to banter. I did see there is an imposed bandwidth and as newbie’s we are allocated the minimum, bandwidths are evaluated monthly (by pro boards our gracious hosting company) and adjusted according to usage again part of the freebie package. So if anyone experiences slow response times it is short term, our communication pipe size increases by usage. The more we blabber the more we get. I’m sure there are hurdlers yet to come and I sincerely appreciate everyone’s input to make this a fun environment. Let’s learn together.

Looks like we've kind of hit a wall with only 19 members. I'm trying to think up some ways to promote the site.
Of course, I've noticed that the RR blog, for the first time, failed to get anyone other than me to post on their new thread. Part of that might be the fact that they didn't send out their usual email updates.

I wish we could get Pam, Kate, Stephanie, Betty, Lori, Tired, Lou, Gene, AfghanVet and the rest. For now we will have to be happy with small beginnings. KFMB is not attracting any new people either. I went to DC Junkies tonight and PM’d a few there also went to Hannity and did the same. We will see.

How did the chat room work out for yesterday's chat session? Sorry I wasn't available. Attendance could have been much better, but we are less than a week old, at least we tried. Look at the number of views, topics and post that must be encouraging as to the future of the board, chat will be there, like many things it will take time. I’m a die-hard optimist. Fem Dem did not join in, I think we were all disappointed.

CM,
How about some daily chat times? Maybe you could poll the folks and see what times during the day that they are most likely to have some chat time.
Did you ever find a feature that would display the chat room attendance on the sites main page or is that not an option b/c the chat room is provided by someone else?

CM, How about some daily chat times? Maybe you could poll the folks and see what times during the day that they are most likely to have some chat time. Did you ever find a feature that would display the chat room attendance on the sites main page or is that not an option b/c the chat room is provided by someone else? The chat room option installed basically is what you see is what we get. There are many upgrades available starting at $80.00 per year up to $1500.00 per year. There are ways to earn points that translate to dollars by clicking on the advertising banners. We just don't have they numbers to consider upgrading without paying, for example the first level is 5,000 clicks per month. with our current numbers everyone would have to click on an advertising banner at least 15 times per day, just not practical. I have not signed us up for the click and get paid feature. Chat is feature rich even at the $80.00 level, the upper levels include video, instant notification, private chat room and much more greatly exceeding Skype functionality. At our freebie level we have quickly seen limitations, for the present the best way to invite someone to engage in chat would be to PM them and suggest they join you in the chat room. I have contacted Yahoo seeking ways we may promote our site, additionally I've been working on an even cleaner look and feel. The software is truly amazing, I'm having to brush up on my Java and HTML skills, kinda like riding a bicycle you never forget but have to dust it off before you hop on. I created another (not public) board that I'm using to test format. You may have seen I've replaced some of the dialog icons. Today I've assembled a pretty funny set that will get introduced early next week. I hope all will hang in there, be patience and continue to support our site with your post.

Just a suggestion-why don't you eliminate some of the threads nobody has posted on in weeks? It would make for a cleaner opening page.Just a suggestion.
