Sounds like an old Camping story to me.

Certainly I wouldn’t put much stock in Camping either. But it did remind me of a debate I had in the 70’s. After reading Revelations twice, once the King James Version and the second I don’t remember but I think it was an amplified version. I also attended rch briefly here and in New Zealand, end times was a frequent topic.
The question back then and one I’d still ponder today, “is the rapture literally or figuratively?” From my remembrance the rapture was literal. Also it does not matter if one believes in the rapture or not to be a Christian
I could never buy into a literal rapture and see a conflict - believing in Jesus and not embracing the rapture.

Actually Turk I have seen a special on the history channel and they show the rapture to be literal. The Nostradamus Effect was the show I do believe. They show people actually disappearing to heaven before the end time.Personally ,I believe we all meet the same demise as the dinosaurs, obliterated by a rogue asteroid.Seems the most logical.BTW my computer works again yahooo.

My math says the "Date" is good but the result is "America is now Bankrupt" but I can see why he might misinterpret the figures ;D

The world will end May 21, 2011? I'll never know if it is true or not so I can relax knowing it won't be soon. How many times has it been predicted the world is ending?

Why is it that the FIRST people to get nude are the LAST people who should be nude? That would be about as accurate as saying that a nudist is fashion-conscious. Nudism - I could get into that religion. Seriously I think you have a valid point if nudism were a religion more people would be conscious of their body.

Actually, the rapture is when all the true believers are beamed up to heaven. The rest of us then get to suffer all sorts of tribulations, which probably means more Glenn Beck. Jesus comes later.

To begin the very first meeting of the Continental Congress, all those in attendance started the meeting with a 3 hour long prayer session, knowing that without God's help it may be impossible to defeat the British. Also the very first learning text books used passages from the Bible to teach the children our Alphabet. If the roots of the tree are immoral then the fruit of the tree is inedible.

I thought the rapture and the second coming were simutaneous. If not that means I get to stay here on my farm, with my aresnal, food and water supply, should be fight off the upreapared for years. Hey Glenn you'd be welcome

To begin the very first meeting of the Continental Congress, all those in attendance started the meeting with a 3 hour long prayer session... Didn't happen. The first continental congress, first day was Monday Sept 25 1774. They met briefly, reading declarations from each of the colonies present. They elected a congress president and decided to begin fresh Tuesday morning Sept 26 at 9 o'clock. Tuesday they established rules of conduct for the sessions and made other arrangements such as use of the library, etc. Near the end of the day they agreed to invite a Chaplain to deliver a prayer at 9a.m. Wednesday morning. The Reverend Jacob Duché of Christ rch in Philadelphia offered a 3-minute prayer which was well-received. The congress met for about seven weeks and this was the one and only "prayer session".
