So as we all are seeing the first weeks of our new President Obama, we can all see and hear how the GOP / Fox News / Talk Radio has turned up the heat of cinicism and missinformation designed to convince their listeners to FEAR OBAMA !!!! Im glad to see that the folks hear are more reasonable than the Talk Radio zombies. I was on the road today, for kicks I listened to Beck and Savage. Not once did I hear anyone say “Fear Obama.” Savage does not like Obama, that is clear, but Savage lambasted Bush over and over and over. I’m thinking Savage does not like anyone other than himself and his dog. The guy is very opinionated and argumentative. I don’t find that brainwashing, some of his diatribe is informative and some of it is rubbish. Beck is different, actually there is a little to much Jesus in Beck for me, I don’t want to listen to the “Gospel Hour.” But Beck was clear to point out what is wrong with the Obama stimulus plan and how badly Bush failed. If these guys make people think and question, I personally believe that is a good thing. I would be willing to bet zombies do not exist. My observations are limited, an hour of Beck and an hour of Savage and with that I’ve had my fill.

Sorry CM,
It was my boy Prk Roberts and Hanity using this language...
Im sure Savage would have gotten to fear mongoring latter on.
Beck is a little more slick about his fear mongoring,,,,
but my point is they are all on the same page. Same GOP talking points of Fear Mongoring...
they just have different styles.
Good for you CM not to waste your time listening...but a daily listener would hear what im talking about... Beleive me, I wish I was wrong about this... Remember Palin tying Obama to terrorists? Same ol GOP game plan.

This whole thing is a zero.Talk about making a mountain out of a molehill.Obama said this to Republicans and he's not trying to tell the American people what to listen to.In fact he was speaking figuratively not literal. In other words,if you're going to go by what Rush says and use his "talking points, you won't have any input here.As I stated before, none of these talk show hosts have ant special knowledge or wisdom.RR is,I believe,a former d.j.

Today Prk Roberts jumped at the latest GOP talking point.
Prk supported Rush most of show today, deffending that fat SOB (sorry-). Rick twisted Rushs words in order to deffend him.
but the fact of the matter is that what ever Obama does, Rush is going to call it socialism.
Rush forgot about Bush conveniently being the first socialist Pres.
This is another of my examples that talk radio is the soap box for the GOP, EVEN AT THE EXPENSE OF AMERICAS SUCESS.

Rush Limbaugh is a joke.
He speaks to only one group......far right conservative wingnuts.
He does not speak to the people Republicans need to turn the tide. He is just the same as Sarah Palin. Normal Americans don't listen to him. If all you speak to is the wingnuts, youre not changing anyones views, the exact reason why they have lost the last two elections.

Rush Limbaugh is more than a joke.He seems to be the head of the Republican party by default.Total disarray among the Republicans. They say Rush has 14 million listeners. That makes him #1 but it is a small percentage of the American people.

OK. Fair enough statement: Rush Limbaugh is a joke.
... If all you speak to is the wingnuts, youre not changing anyones views, the exact reason why they have lost the last two elections. Sometimes I have to read your posts two or three times so I don't mis-undertake you. What I would like to know is how do you explain Rush's popularity? How do you juxtapose that to Bush being elected to two terms? Was it all Rush?

Bruce, Listening audience does not equate to acceptance. Jack Oliver listens to RR, seems everyday and we all know how he feels about RR.
I disagree Rush is the head of the Republican Party. I do agree the party is in disarray. The pendulum swings.

No Hatch it was the whole of Fox News, conservative talk radio spewing FEAR.....WMD's....If you dont vote for Bush we'll all be killed by a terrorist attack.
Well, America learned after electing Bush for the second time and that fear tactic stopped working.
Rush Limbaugh and his fellow hate talkers spoke to only one group.....just like KOGO KFMB talk to one group. Older, White Conservative voters. Thats the group that voted a majority for McCain and Palin.
America is FAR too diverse to talk to one group. Limbaugh and Palin stand in front of this statistical group, wave the flag, throw in some Liberal and Minority hate slogans and they get a rousing aplause. However, its not enough to change anything.
America as a whole is not a talk radio nation. The highest rated stations in San Diego are Hispanic stations. You have to be diverse, not pigeonholed. Minorities don't listen to talk radio, mostly because of the majority of America's youth, mostly Liberal. They listen to music stations.
Limbaugh may be popular but he is so to a very small group of Americans. 40-70 year old white Republicans. He preaches to the choir and that doesn't win elections.

Hannity is spitting bullets he is not the one receiving the attention. Rush is brilliant, he has the country talking and Obama, talking about him, as he rakes in the bucks. I’m guessing this latest flap has put more than 200k to Rush’s bottom line. Right/left have been played. Hannity and Rush have more ego than all of us put together.
You got it VOR, pull up to any red light and hear the music blasting from every car but (mine) your own. I quickly roll up the window.
Ummmm roll up the window, that does not apply any more, so what do we call it?
I was not aware Hispanic radio was number 1, not surprising. I can look it up but do you have a link? I do not know the frequency but there is a very popular Hispanic talk radio station broadcast in the SD and Riverside area.
Who created the word Hispanic?

It seems there are some reasonable conservatives here on this blog. I am happy. when I say reasonable , I mean they at least debate their beliefs and listen to what others have to say, even if no unanimous agreement is made, at least we had a conversation of facts and beliefs based on facts or experiences.
To those republicans here, I would just like to say one thing. Talk Radio has a huge influence on the GOP IMO. Most every republican dissagreement or accusation against dems can be traced back to talk radio.
Hasnt anyone noticed the same talking points people argue with are the same talking points word from word from talk radio? Come on guys...
IT HAS TO COME FROM SOMEWHERE.
WHO IS THE MAN Behing the curtain?

Truly amazing how so many are willing to accept so little from a person of no experience! But this is another example of liberal "thinking" take a phrase out of context and then blow it up! But, of course, it is all conservative bias and meanness! I expect if the divine O said the moon is composed of brie, so, too, would the echoes resound!

Lou, Boy would we feel stupid if we found out that our president told us something was true only to find out later he or she didn't have the proof. If Obama told us there were WMD's buried in the cheese do you think we would invade the moon?
