From the NYT: “ Defense officials from more than 50 nations were gathering in Brussels to discuss supplying Ukraine with more defensive weapons, two days after Russia unleashed its broadest aerial assault on Ukrainian cities since the war began, knocking out water and power systems and killing more than 20 people.”
I had no idea that so many countries hated Russia. Wasn’t it just a few years ago when the US was bombing Serbia?

So Maximum Leader Zelensky is slamming Israel for not sending him arms. He does a good job of claiming “If you’re not with us you are against us”. I wonder if he will come to a bad end. I won’t cry, any more than I would cry if Putin did the same.

What will it take to tame Russia? Napoleon tried it, Hitler tried it. How much sacrifice would it take to realize this Neocon dream? Could it backfire? The American press does its best to ignore what’s happening or its consequences.

Maybe it’s just my subjective feeling, but could it be that Russia is actually stronger now then it was when they first invaded Ukraine? Have they totally ramped up their war production? Has the West sown the wind by backing the Ukrainians?

Yes, yes, Putin is Hitler. And Xi too. And Little Kim and the Ayatollahs. How about Zelensky? Or Macron? Or Trudeau? Or Biden? All in the eyes of the beholder, as always.

What a let-down for the Neocons: Prigozhin stepped down from his attempted coup. By the way, it’s interesting to me that assassination has gone by the wayside as a political tool. How many lives could have been saved if we has just assassinated Saddam? Or Assad? Can’t say.

It.just so happens this Saturday is the 314th anniversary of the Swedish Empires’s defeat at Poltava at the hands of the Russians. After that, Russia was the top dog in Northeastern Europe. Could that have anything to do Sweden wanting to jump on the NATO war wagon and help the Ukrainians kill Russians? Probably not. Meanwhile, Bloodthirsty Joe says he’s “anxious” for Sweden to join.

Few people living in the USA can understand the Russians.
We have two huge oceans on each side, and weak neighbors north and south. We cannot be invaded.
The Russians are different. They've been invaded several times ... twice in the last century. And they've been invaded by America! We sent thousands of troops to Archangel after the Russian Revolution, to help the White counter=revolutionaries.
They know that it was them who paid the iron price for defeating Hitler. For every American who died fighting Hitler, 100 -- yes that's 100 -- Russians died.
Whether it's rational or not, they fear a NATO pushed up to their borders, knowing that NATO is not just a defensive alliance, but involves itself in other countries during their civil wars: on the Croat side against the Serbs, and on the Islamist rebel side against Gaddafi.
Which is why we promised Gorbachev that NATO would not expand 'one inch' eastwards after he peacefully withdrew from their E.European buffer zone... and he was naive enough to believe us.
The current head of the CIA was our ambassador in Russia... in 2008 he wrote that Ukrainian membership of NATO was the 'brightest of bright red lines' for the Russians, and that everyone he knew in Moscow felt that way.
How many patriots know these facts?

NATO leaders are meeting in Vilnius to discuss their next moves in their anti-Russian campaign. Here’s a headline from the NYT: “NATO Tries to Remember What It Means to Fight a European War”. What does Germany remember now that they are on our side? Maybe it is the lack of memory that is leading Europe down this path.

So Sweden has now jumped on the bandwagon of the anti-Russia alliance. Time to trade in my Volvo. Isn’t it nice, though, that Europe can unite around its fear and loathing of Russia? Very heart warming.

So Ukrainians zealots are still trying to get the Pope on their war wagon, but he has hasn’t condemned Russia. Yet. But like the Supreme Vourt, he is is not impervious to popular winds.

The NATO crusade against Russia may be faltering, but hey! Sweden has goosestepped into NATO! Whoo-hoo! I think they have revived their animus against Russia dating back at least to Poltava. Or maybe it’s just a new generation of paranoid Swedes.

Macron continues to be the spear tip of confrontation with Russia. How did his generation of Europeans (b.1977) become such warmongers? Did the West’s “victory” over Russia in the Cold War make them arrogant?
