It was suggested in another thread, which I can't find anymore, that I cite examples of "Christian" violence against Islam which I claimed was happening. And I think it was supposed to be "contextual and current". How about Predator drone strikes on suspected terrorists? Does that count? A problem is, of course, that we don't consider NATO a "Christian" military force. But don't you think it looks Christian to the average Muslim?

Well, now I understand what you were saying. The Drone strikes made it clearer.
The bombing of Dresden in February of 1945 was, by this train of thought, an attack by Southern Baptists and Anglican parishoners against the Lutherans. And the Christian westerners were trynig to wipe out Shintoists in Nagasaki and Hiroshima.
Yes, I can see how an average Muslim would see the attacks as being Christians against Muslims. Does the average Muslim look at 9/11 as just some Freedom Fighter taking on the Great Despoiler? I think it is more like Islam against the Great Satan. After all, these ARE the terms they use.
But, what is a Head of State to do? You throw big balls of fire, break things and kill people. That is called war.

Odd. How does it come to be that we were attached in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania (in route to DC) with over 3,000 innocent people murdered and a few drone attacks makes it Christian vs. Muslim?

JG, what some Americans think is important, but, (not?) only to Americans. What Muslims think is important to all of us. And that's at the root of the problem. If they continue to see us as the Great Satan, they will never affect change that pacifies their populations. That they danced and celebrated [/i] as the towers came down and say little in condemnation of those who did it, the war cannot be lost, but, winning may be worse.
That's the tough road for us. Kick the right asses, but, woo the masses. Diplomacy worked as well as handing them all free condoms. To them, it's like "What the hell do I want with these?"
They brought on us, and themselves. We have a very fine line to travel.

I understand Hatch, I am not happy with the understanding but IMO we get nowhere buy ignoring how we got here for the sake of where we may be going! It's easier for me since I am getting old enough to realize this is another generations HUGE problem if not brought under control. I also believe strongly that it is our generation who has the stamina and commitment to country for that to happen, I am suspect of the future generations with regard to the steadfastness required to Zip up and Get it Done!

Are you saying Gen X doesn't have the will to continue our Great Crusade against the Muslim World like our generation? Maybe they realize it's a road to nowhere...but perhaps if we get Fox News on the job they'll come around!

By design from our generation which has struggled to make things better for them than we had! What a joke that has turned into! All they really need is a few more "brain dead comments" from your liberal associates to condemn them to a life of pure Hell!

Here's an article in the "liberal" (didn't I say you can't trust a liberal?) LA Times that should warm your hearts. And who are these so-called "anti-terrorism experts"? Sounds all subjective to me, but I guess if the LA Times wants to jump on the Fear Bandwagon they have every right... www.latimes.com/news/nation-and-world/la-na-us-radicalization7-2009dec07,0,3941551.story

Children raised in excessive affluence have always had difficulty with challenges.

Children raised in excessive affluence have always had difficulty with challenges. True, but we are not necessarily talking "excessive affluence" here!
