Obama is handling the Honduras situation exactly as I said he should: He just cancelled $16.5 million in military aid, and is threatening to cut $50 miilion more.

jdredd, Chavez started out with the people's support. They thought he was one of them and would stand tall for them. He has failed them and terribly so.
When the people turned against him, he bullied his way into changing the rules of that country such that he will reign as long as he desires.
re: Honduras - Zelaya is not wanted by the people of that country. Let the people decide who they want... not the dictator of a socialistic country (Chavez).
As far as Rush is concerned - his main comments have been directed towards the way Obama supports people like Chavez, Castro and Ahmadinejad rather than the people of the country. Specifically - how Obama refused to get involved when the people of Iran tried to vote out Ahmadinejad only to be beaten, killed, jailed for wanting their country back. Yet, Obama gets involved and penalyzes the country of Honduras for deciding they do not want Zelaya.
I tend to agree with Rush on this one.
Obama needs to stay out of the politics of Honduras. Stop playing patty cake with Chavez and pals - they are not allies.
Just so you all know - I do like Rush. I appreciate his dry sense of humor and his entertaining act of pomposity. He is typically on target and his facts are yet to be debunked.
JG - I will mention Rush from time to time so get ready for the pain.

I must admit this is a good place for the Rush debate cause like the thread title no one really cares except for the facts which are occuring in America and are TOO DAMN close to the same behaviors as Honduras!
I hope all of you don't let the real issues around you go ignored while you tickle with Rush...

cause like the thread title no one really cares except for the facts which are occuring in America and are TOO DAMN close to the same behaviors as Honduras! Johng, re: facts which are occuring in America and are TOO DAMN close to the same behaviors as Honduras! I have had some discussions with people both last night and today - live discussions. I am torn when it comes to Central America/South America as I am not really sure about either of the leaders. Zelaya is not wanted by the people - but what better is the current regime? Will the current regime really do as they say they will and present a people approved leader? I do not know. What I do know is that what people hear in other countries is rarely if ever what is truly occurring within that country. I do not like that Obama is siding with Zelaya. I do not like that Obama is in bed with Chavez. I don't like that Obama is in bed with Iran's dictator. I am especially not impressed with the way Obama's administration is representing the people of the USA. ACORN's faked votes, Obama acting like he is the ruler of the country, Congress - instead of balancing the Executive branch - is instead the slave of the Executive branch - all of this does lead one to see the similarities. Please, do not take lack of posting on a topic as a sign of zero reading, contemplation, analyzing and fact searching. I am most definitely concerned.

My comment was not directed at anyone specific ***wink***
Prior to this year - America was one a few countries without a Monarchy or Dictator - not so sure right now where we are heading and it concerns me greatly!

I cannot disagree with you on that. Especially the way this Admin labels regular Americans and the fact that the MSM is reporting what the Admin wants. The MSM forgets one of the reasons for Article 1 was to prevent exactly what is occurring today. Freedom of the press was at one time used to keep us free. Now it is used to enslave us. This is truly a sad day for journalism.

The only "Journalism" I have witnessed this week is between you and DJ - they could learn from you two! Funny thing is DJ is more like asking Mom a question than anyone I have read.

"Zelaya is not wanted by the people - but what better is the current regime? "
As I said before, if Murdoch's WSJ is for the new government, it must really suck. But I posted the riot video because my knee jerk reaction is to be on the side of the rioting students, just like in Iran. If American students started to riot against the Obama administration, I would have to rethink my support. But a bunch of loud-mouth bussed-in geezers funded by insurance companies showing up at town hall meetings, not at all.

You are begging for trouble falling in line with the ObieGestapo line. Geezers? Bussed-in? Funded by insurance companies? And the ultimate - loud-mouthed. How can you say either - especially the latter with a straight face?!

Who said I had a straight face? But you are right, I love loud-mouths. But not paid minions of corporations, if the rumour is true.

Speaking as one who has been known to show up at events and who personally knows many who show up at events - we are far from being minions. Could you imagine _me_ as a minion of anyone? Not likely!!! This is one of those cases in which a guilty party sees their actions painted on everyone they come in contact with. I think it is referred to as projecting. I really do not think any of us would be a party to anything an insurance company would want (especially in the numbers that are showing up around the nation and at the various sites around the nation). Most of us have issues with insurance companies in general. No... whether the self-proclaimed gods like it or not... it is the people of this country speaking up and out.
