This video may get scrubbed if interested I suggest you view as soon as possible. MEMRI is an organization we have in the U.S. and serves our government by translating all sorts of communications from the Middle East which appear in Arabic and which might otherwise not be accessible to our government or the general populace. The speaker is billed as a professor from Kuwait. He is definitely Iraqi by accent. www.tangle.com/view_video.php?viewkey=0861ff3eabea1ceb73e4&sp=1

Sorry, the kind of fear-mongering propaganda of finding some ultra-extremist wacko saying something inflammatory just falls flat with me. It's like taking some chat room idiot who screams "We should nuke Tehran!" seriously.

IMO the video is plausible.

It's like taking some chat room idiot who screams "We should nuke Tehran!" seriously. This is the third video I have seen of this guy in the past year. He has broadcast on the media throughout Pakistan, Iran & Afghanistan at least. I have seen him on Memri TV ( www.memritv.org/ ). Plus the circulation of the recordings through various Arab web sites along with other international web sites. Even we are viewing it. He can and does reach ears of people who are willing to do exactly what he mentions to support their cause. He is right in that our media portray al Qaida and other terrorists as a bunch of gun totting tunnel rats. As he mentioned, there are some very seriously educated supporters of their cause. A very good case for getting control of our borders! Personally, I believe it is a matter of WHEN not IF! The cost of potential votes is going to be porous borders for terrorists! I can't vouch for the accuracy of translation, but his actions seem consistent with what is translated.

The site appears to be a purely video source of all types. The extremeists are know to speak in hyperbole so it's hard to judge much.

Fear, like hate and greed, is a political tool. Fear of communism kept Americans in line for 40 years. Fear is a factor in what your political stand is. If you fear Islamic Terrorism, you will probably vote Republican. If you fear Global Warming, you'll probably vote Democratic. For me, the threat of Islamic Terrorism is far down the list, way behind unemployment and unaffordable health care for instance. So you can worry about this guy all you want, I have other fish to fry...

Fear is indeed a political tool. This is why terrorists, not makers of man made disasters, use it. Those who know someone whose bodies were shredded and burned on 9/11 tend to understand that it can happen again simply because there are those out there that state clearly that they want it to happen again.
Sure, hope and pray for your gimmies. The terrorists don't care much one way or the other.

Unfortunately, that is what this person is counting on, the short attention span of the American. Hopefully, we still have some people in Intelligence who haven't forgotten 9/11 and are keeping vigilant.

Lou, is it just me, or are we hearing much of the same head-in-sandedness pre-9/11?

Hey, you came up with an even better reason for me not to worry about this clown: We pay thousands of people BIG bucks to do nothing but worry about guys like this, so why the heck should I waste my time doing the same for free? I don't have a cush civil service job with a no doubt great retirement package waiting for me, do I?
