Lou-no,no help from medicare as I'm not eligible for it until August.,when I turn 65,I pay for everything out of pocket,my income is too high for Medical or medicaid, state programs.By the way,$550 may not seem like a lot but it is about 22% of my monthly income.I went through most of my savings for medical expenses in two years, along with helping pay expenses for a young relative with leukemia, whose parents had insurance but it was inadequate and they owed$225,000 when he died. They finally had to declare bankruptcy and lost their home in Spring Valley. Speaking of relatives, one of my grandsons,Matthew Brown was chosen as an athlete of the week by the UT,his picture is on the back page of the sports section of today's UT(terrible picture). Thanks Lou,for clarifying the car theft story. Bruce, for me $550.00 is alot! Gosh, I am so sorry to hear about the leukimia relative, my deepest sympathies. Yes, indeed, great news about your grandson! Congratulations!

Bruce, isn't the most wonderful feeling when one of our sons or daughters, grandsons or granddaughters, and so on, achieve excellence? It could be something grand, or something small. It all matters so much.
Congrats to your grandson and his grandfather!!
I gotta tell you, it gave me pause.
It reminded me of a PM I received earlier this year. I am gonna stop now because I get very sentimental.

Thank you to all,I'm just a bit annoyed I had to find out about it from the UT.My daughter said she thought Matt told me,he thought his dad called, etc, etc. But yes I'm proud and hope he goes to my alma mater ASU in Tempe, his mom wants him to go to SDSU,her alma mater.Of the 4 grandkids who are old enough for college.all 4 attended or are attending schools here and elsewhere.I shouldn't brag but my 7 year old is in the 4th grade and I was told he is capable of 7th grade level work,he takes after his grandpa(yeah, right).

Bruce, I have connections at SDSU if Matt makes the team I can get you season tickets, free. Honest. edit: p.s. There is a trolley stop on campus, it is a comfortable walk from the trolley station to the baseball field

Lou, I think we're supposed to quit picking on Bruce. It is kind of ironic how a liberal can be the almost canonized among a crowd of conservatives!

Maybe, just maybe, the people here who are "canonizing me has nothing to do with being a liberal, maybe it's as a human being.

Drat, you've discovered our secret, CM. We liberals are demons sent to terrorize your existence. But mostly to steal all your money!

Over 35,000 weapons were seized by the army and police agencies in Mexico, and both US and Mexican authorities agree 90% came from the US.The president has announced sanctions against the assets of three drug cartels, and the Americans who sell guns, launder money and otherwise aid the cartels will be prosecuted. An estimated $19 to39 billion dollars are flowing into Mexico yearly for drugs. Finally a "do something" president. This won't solve the problem but it help.

Here we go again; the guns were given as aid to the Mexican military and Mexican law enforcement. It is not our fault Mexicans authorities are incapable of responsibility.
