The primary villians, along with the executives of AIG,are Paulson and Timothy Geithner.Paulson signed of on it late last year, and Geithner took two days to inform the president. That is not acceptable,he was asleep at the switch and should go.Of course the calls for those involved to commit suicide and other such things do nothing to solve the problem and are nonsense. And all the comments about the president and teleprompters tickle me;we had a president for 8 years who couldn't even do that. I see the president had a very sucessful trip to Costa Mesa,in Orange County no less.

Guess who were the two biggest recipients of political contributions from AIG during the last election cycle? Dodd just admitted on CNN that he inserted a loophole in the stimulus legislation that allowed million-dollar bonuses to insurance giant AIG to go forward – after previously denying any involvement in writing the controversial provision. . “We wrote the language in the bill, the deal with bonuses, golden parates, excessive executive compensation that was adopted unanimously by the United States Senate in the stimulus bill,” Dodd told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer this afternoon. news.yahoo.com/s/politico/20090318/pl_politico/30833Have Obama and Dodd violated our trust? ?? Anyone smell dead fish?

Dodd is a politician;Paulsen was responsible for the final version.Dodd's fate is up to the voters in Connecticut. I agree Geithner should go and Paulsen should be held responsible.

Bruce, I disagree, Dodd admitted he inserted the "loopholes." Dodd should be held accountable. The problem; the democrats are creating all this stuff then no one reads but all jump on board.

Dodd may well have done wrong;if the people of Connecticut feel strongly abou it,they can recall him,or vote him out next time.

Yes he should be held accountable. But as bruce pointed out, his fate is with those who elected him from his state. The rest of us can only remind the voters when it becomes time for his reelection. That is, unless his stated decides to try an unlikely recall. As for the others, they need to go and Obama should be on top of that. Nobody held the ultimate signer, Obama, responsible for not reading the bill he signed. At least where were his advisers on the content of that bill? I don't know how many times Bush was held accountable for things on his watch, some of which he had no control. This bill was SIGNED by Obama. It seems to be commonplace for this administration to hurry through legislation then sign it before everybody gets a chance to read the final proposal. So regardless of those asleep on watch and those who would put their financial supporters above the nation, the ultimate responsibility lies with Obama just as it did with Bush!

CM, I like your avatar although it runs a little short. In the not to distant past that avatar would have been heavily critisized. Particularly if Hatch used it! ;D

Things must be worse than I thought, even the White House is planting a Victory Garden: White House to break ground on 'kitchen garden'news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090319/ap_on_go_pr_wh/white_house_gardenExcerpts: WASHINGTON – The White House is getting a new garden. First lady Michelle Obama is scheduled to break ground Friday on a new garden near the fountain on the South Lawn that will supply the White House kitchen. She will be joined by students from Bancroft Elementary School in the District of Columbia. The children will stay involved with the project, including planting the fruits, vegetables and herbs in the coming weeks and harvesting the crops later in the year.

Is this child labor under the guise of education?

lou-"socialistatthegate",now that sounds pretty unbiased.I went there but had to register to read it and didn't take the time to do it. Last night on the Jay Leno show:LENO.......it's all his (Geithner) problem." OBAMA:"Ultimately all this stuff is my responsibility".How refreshing. How unlike the previous president.

Rep. John Kyle(R-AZ) went balisitic over the president's appearing on Jay Leno.Kyle is a total jerk. What better way to communicate with the people, most of whom are not news or political junkies.A very positive move. There may be a bit of jealousy involved;who would book Kyle as a guest?Maybe the bidmouth druggie or Sean Insanity. Obama's "joke" about the special olympics was a mistake. He recognized it,admitted it was an error, apologized, and called the head of the special olympics and expressed his regrets. How long did it take Bush to apologize for his misstatements? Mostly he didn't.It took years for him to admit his foolish and false"mission accomplished" gaffe.
