I'm getting ready to celebrate Che's birthday tomorrow. Why not? We celebrate Jesus's birthday, and they have a lot in common, don't they? Jesus was a Jewish troublemaker, and Che was an Argentinian troublemaker. Both tried to liberate humanity. Both failed. Both were murdered. But I'm not going to kill a tree to celebrate Che.

Tomorrow is the 141st anniversary of the Battle of Little Bighorn, something else worth celebrating. Custer, determined to kill as many Dakota and Cheyenne as possible for the crime of leaving their reservations, made tactical blunders that led to his death. In the end, though, the tribes had to return to the reservation or flee to Canada.

Why celebrate Che's birthday? Maybe it's just nostalgia for the Age of Revolution, now long over. I think I need a red velvet cupcake. Of course, "red" now means Republican in the US. I think their color should be yellow.

OK, this is funny (I think): Yesterday is also Trump's birthday. Talk about contrasts. One is a Revolutionary (whether you agree with his politics or not), the other a Demagogue (whether you agree with his politics or not). Of course, Che would be 90, and Trump is youngster of 72. Both from different worlds.

www.thestreet.com/investing/bitcoin/justin-sun-on-lunch-with-warren-buffett-14986330?puc=yahoo&cm_ven=YAHOO&yptr=yahoo"Cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies have become increasingly hard to ignore. Case in point: It will be front-and-center at the upcoming lunch between legendary investor Warren Buffett and blockchain company founder, Justin Sun, for which Sun paid a record $4.6 million this year. Each year, Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.B - Get Report) chief Buffett auctions off a lunch with himself in an event that garners nearly as much attention as his company's annual shareholder meeting. Proceeds from the lunch go to support the Glide Foundation, which helps the homeless population in San Francisco. The $4.6 million paid by the 29-year-old Sun this year surpassed last year's record of $3.3 million bid by an anonymous winner (the first lunch with Buffett in 2000 went for a mere $25,000)." I'm jumping the gun on Che's Birthday, but I think it's interesting to compare the lives of two men, Guevara and Buffet, who were born 2 years apart. Che, of course, met his end from a CIA-backed Bolivian Death Squad in 1968, while Buffet is still with us. And Buffet has become a Capitalist Super-hero with millions of fans. So what lesson can we learn from this? I'll get back to you on that when I've figured it out. Probably something to do with property. Or God. And property IS God to some people.

Today is Che's real birthday! He paid the ultimate price fighting inequality.

Happy birthday, Che, wherever you are. Meanwhile, here in San Diego some things never change: Hundreds of boats cruised the harbor supporting Trump yesterday, that other guy with his birthday today.

I wouldn't be onboard with you wishing a murder happy birthday. Last year when I was in Bolivia I had planned to visit and celebrate his death site, but it completely slipped my mind.

I stick by my comment in the first post on this thread. I'm not a Christian and certainly do not believe in Jesus as a God. I am wondering how you justify the comparison. How many people did Jesus murder?

I forgot to celebrate Che’s birthday, but come to think of it some Asian countries celebrate the death day of important personages, so maybe I should do that. People celebrate Good Friday too, don’t they?

Just happened to finish a biography of Che on the same day I heard Mark (DON’T FORGET TO BUY HIS BOOK) Levin whine about Antifa types wearing Che t-shirts. You know, the kind Boomers used to wear before they became fat-assed Trump voters.
