This is my newest question: Will the greed of the wealthy destroy America, as they buy elections, buy up the press, and undermine democracy? Will the rich getting richer while the poor get poorer end in disaster for the American Experiment? Maybe we should ask Rush and Mitt and all the other apologists for the billionaires.

Well, I think we dodged a bullet. The billionaires were unable to sabotage our democracy with their money, even when their target was a President as weak as Obama. I'm sure they are already looking for a new puppet to run in 2016. Scott Walker, perhaps?

After a black, a woman has a good chance of winning with almost the same (maybe more now) than Obama had. It may depend on how the jobs and economy are going and if the people trust the Democrats. If it is still slow with high unemployment, they may move on. Who will the GOP run? Names have been mentioned (Jeb Bush-Rand Paul or Marco Rubio-Rand Paul or Condolezza Rice-Marco Rubio). But if it isn't a black Hispanic female they may not have a chance. Condolezzqa Rice hits two of those and Marco Rubio hits the other. But I don't think Rice is interested. Then again, jobs and the economy will still likely be an issue.

Is the fiscal cliff an example of greed destroying America? The Old White Guy Party is SO adamant that we don't raise the taxes of the top 2% that they are willing to threaten to go off it to protect their greedy billionaire patrons, even if it means the 98% will get tax increases too. Is the OWGP ready to take the blame? I hope they go for it.

Very high over regulations C. Greedy Union thugs D. Some just want cheap labor and poor workman ship I'll take E. all the above Only raise taxes 3 times of the rate on companies that moved overseas for cheap labor for greed only, Offer tax breaks to US companies that stayed in US that manufactures goods in USA that hires American people not Illegals, Pay people fair decent wages with no Union scums, get rid of some unnecessary over regulations, make the Federal Right to work Laws, Reduce our high corporate taxes from 38% to 25%! 25% seems fair for corp tax rate! not 38%! If any company breaks the Law They will lose the tax breaks and pay higher rates if they move over seas Tax them a lot more! my 2cents! Raising taxes wont do crap! all they do is spend more when they want more money they will raise more and add more new taxes to support their spending habit like a bad drug habit!

There are some things here I might agree with, but the issue at hand for Congress seems to be whether to let taxes go up for 100% of taxpayers, or only let them rise for the richest 2%. As I said before, I HOPE the Grand Old White Guys Party make us go off the fiscal cliff protecting their 2% cronies! By the way, WHAT over-regulation? I think corporations are UNDER-regulated. If they weren't, they couldn't move jobs overseas.

An example of over regulation Starting with the EPA when you want to build something these whack jobs will say you cant build this the mud shrimp needs a place to live waaaa! I'll make it simple get rid of the bad over regulation and keep the good over regulation that is fair and balanced with no govt intrusion on some things!

WHAT CLASS WAR??
There was a lot of loose talk about Obama using class warfare to get reelected, and maybe there is some truth to that. But it does bring up the subject of the status of the whole concept. I remember many years ago hearing that the rise of the middle class had killed off class war, and in many ways that is true. Good paying Union jobs with decent pensions let millions of people lead comfortable and relatively affluent lives in the burbs. Class peace reigned. Alas, the rich could not leave well enough alone. They wanted an ever increasing share of the pie, and the easiest way to do that was to suppress labor costs by moving jobs overseas. So that has brought us where we are today, with working people still under attack by the wealthy elites. Unions are being busted, real pensions are replaced with worthless 401k's. The media, controlled by the rich, still does everything it can to deny, downplay, and ridicule the concept of class war and try to convince us we live in a "meritocracy". I'm not sure how "merit" is defined, but any way you define it, it leaves millions of people out in the cold. Still, it's hard to say whether class war will become a reality, certainly the battle over the "Fiscal cliff" and the drive to slash "entitlement" costs seems to me to be a glaring example of class war, and will not disappear even if Obama did tomorrow.

www.politico.com/story/2015/09/scott-walker-quits-2016-213912"Walker’s biggest political patrons, the Ricketts family, which has contributed $5 million to his super PAC, felt similarly blindsided, according to an adviser to the Walker campaign. Todd Ricketts, who has been among Walker’s most aggressive fundraisers, did not get a call until later Monday afternoon. Ricketts, whose family owns the Chicago Cubs, was set to host a Manhattan fundraiser later this week, and had been busily organizing a never-before-reported event for Walker bundlers at Wrigley field on October 2. Even amid sinking poll numbers, turnout was expected to be high. “The Wrigley field thing was going to be awesome,” said the adviser. “This guy busted his ass for Scott Walker.”
Egads! You try to buy the White House and your selected puppet self destructs! What's a billionaire to do?

www.politico.com/story/2015/09/tom-steyer-more-democratic-debates-2016-214085"Billionaire Democratic donor Tom Steyer on Friday afternoon called on the party to add another debate focused on climate change and clean energy, adding his voice to a pitched disagreement over the number of Democratic debates. Steyer, an environmentalist who is one of the party’s major financiers and who already hosted a fundraiser for Hillary Clinton, said he wants the debate to occur before the Iowa caucuses in February. “Since the candidates — and the Democratic Party — understand that climate change is our greatest threat, they must allow voters the opportunity to hear a thoughtful and robust discussion — not just a single question — about their plans to solve this issue,” reads the release put out by Steyer’s group, NextGen Climate. By wading into the conversation, Steyer could be putting real pressure on the Democratic National Committee, whose chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Sltz has maintained that the party would stick with its plan to hold six debates — four before Iowa — despite increasing pressure for more." Here is a liberal Billionaire trying to control a political party. Why should we listen to him? If he wants to help, give them money and shut the f*ck up.

www.politico.com/story/2016/01/rupert-murdoch-michael-bloomberg-2016-run-218281"Rupert Murdoch is lighting some fire under Michael Bloomberg to mount an independent bid for president. “This is Bloomberg's last chance. You never know until your hat is in the ring! Events change everything, especially during elections. Nomination,” the News Corp mogul tweeted Wednesday. Bloomberg has reportedly set March as a deadline to decide on an independent run and is more likely to take the leap if the candidates at the “extremes” prevail, as in Donald Trump, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz or Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders." It doesn't get any better than this: One billionaire dirtbag encouraging another billionaire dirtbag to run against still another billionaire dirtbag!
