The Rat Zapper rules. This year I left it baited and turned on most of the time instead of just using it selectively. The ground squirrel population around my backyard has now been almost completely eliminated and it even got a few rats that came by late in the evening.

I saw something like it over there. I am using Uncle Ian's and gopher pellets - however, I would love some extra ammunition.

The Rat Zapper is sold online www.ratzapper.com/ - I don't know if they are sold at Lowe's. They won't do Gophers, but the "Gopher Tool" does that.

I wasn't thinking of using it for gophers (though upon reading the post I can see why it would appear that I was). I still have ground squirrels and some norwegian rats (avocado tree). I wonder if it attracts skunks? I did not see the "Gopher Tool" on the site - do you have more information on that?

It's just a long hollow metal tube (probe) with a bait hopper on top and a trap door at the bottom for releasing the poison pellets safely underground and hopefully in the gopher tunnels.

The big thing I worry about is not so much the gophers - it is the prey animals that feed on the poisoned gophers that cause concern. I don't want to poison a hawk/owl/coyote etc. I wish they had something like the zapper for gophers!

Great shots SSS, I love plumeria. Me too! I have some plumerias I have grown from branches off a friend's plumeria plant. The first year one of them flowered ... the others took 2+ years. Two of them produce flowers with the plumeria aroma - NUMMMMMY!
