When I click on the link to listen I get the following, any clue? I'm up to date with codex and its MP 10 Wmnetmgr.dll file is registered incorrectly. ------------ Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK. At the command prompt, type cd %windir%\system, and then press ENTER. Type regsvr32 wmnetmgr.dll, and then press ENTER. Type exit, and then press ENTER.

OR...................
1. Close Windows Media Player. (To do this, on the File menu, click Exit.)
2. Click Start, and then click Run.
3. In the Run dialog box, type the following (exactly as shown):
%UserProfile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows Media
This step opens the following folder on your computer:
SystemDrive:\Documents and Settings\UserProfileName\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows Media
4. In this folder, rename the folder 10.0 to 10.0.bak.
5. Start the Player and try to stream the content again.

Make sure Windows Media Video File is selected as a File Type in the Options dialogue box. Open Windows Media Player -> choose Tools menu -> Options -> File Types tab -> make sure "wmv" is checked.

Dolphie,
What tools to you recommend for registry clean up and spyware removal?

spyware removal:
Combofix rkill.exe killbox.exe hijackthis
After those are done -
Malwarebytes - download the updates, install them BEFORE launching malwarebytes
Be careful where you download the above files from: BleepingComputers is a great site: it is clean and it is helpful.
In addition to all of that - I recommend keeping your cache cleaned out.
Temp and Temporary internet files.
Normally I would post a link - but the servers are down for about 3 weeks until a re-location has been completed.
---------
Relative to registry scrubber - for the majority of the folks I say stay away from registry scrubbers.
I have seen permissions altered and necessary keys deleted.
*IF* the registry needs to be scrubbed - I do it manually. BUT......... I do not recommend that to anyone as it CAN and WILL disable a computer.
Do NOT set registry cleaner to work on reboot or to run in the background - as some do.
If the above files do not work - get someone that KNOWS what they are doing to help you.
Do NOT settle for a Re-Format - sometimes that will not kill the infection AND it does serve to cause additional problems ( reloading drivers, reloading software, lost files, lost pictures, etc)
Re: registry cleaners ------------------------------- Try troubleshooting why the DVD/CD drive does not show when a client indicates they have 'done nothing' to their computer - ONLY to discover they ran a registry scrubber
I used to play with ccleaner - but it messed up some permissions on a client's PC before they became my client. It was lots of fun figuring out the issue. It also became obsoleted with what it caught and did not catch. ------------------------------------------------------------------------

I’m comfortable playing in the registry playground. My problem is browsing is getting increasingly slower, IE and FF but email, Cute FTP work as normal. Also ping is fine.
I’ve done the normal stuff, deleted history, clear chache, etc.
