Way to go.The so-called leadership of the Repubs is pathetic. When the principal leader and spokesperson is a former disc jockey and has no qualifications to speak on much of anything, you know they are in trouble.

Sorry, dudes (by the way my 10-year-old grandson tells me no one says "dudes" anymore), but this one has got me worried. I used to think that only conservatives were foolish enough to get their political talking points from buffoonish radio clowns like Limbaugh, with his juvenile parody songs and the way he mocks liberals with a lisp (real cute, you bigoted basperson). But now liberals are getting their ques from over-the-top guys like Olbermann, Stewart, and Maher. Not a good sign for the future of our democracy.

The only purpose of this thread is to flame. I had hoped he would have grown out of it by now.

Seriously, who do you guys think is leading the Republicans? At this point I see no one who is credible and has the ear of the people. You have to admit they are in disarray and Limbaugh seems to be leading them.I realize he is not a true spokesperson, but he has taken advantage of a vacuum of leadership.I frankly don't particularly care for Al Franken but but only because for a comedian I didn't find him funny and his radio show was a disaster. That said,I welcome him to the senate.By the way,he is a better writer than comedian or radio host, the "Fat Liars" book was great. Can't recall the title.

Republican leaders.
Many on the left want to believe Coulter and Limbaugh are leaders; they are no more leaders than Garofalo and Mayer are to the democrats. The bunch are talking heads earning a living.
The problem for the republicans is they don’t have a leader they are like a fish out of water flopping around in search of direction.

Your second paragraph is 100% correct,exactly what I said.See,we can once in a blue moon agree. ;D ;D ;D

The big difference is that we have a true leader, not Garofolo or Mayer(? I don't even know who this is).Like your new avatar CM,less "threatening".

thanks for leaving my thread up CM. I just wanted to point out that right now Talk Radio is carrying the GOP while the GOP regroups...and millions of listeners are following the lead and talking points of Rush, SAVAGE, Hannity, and Roberts... they dont scare me because it is show for them, it's the listeners that believe the anit Obama smears that scare the living daylights out of me.

Here is an example of the point Im trying to make... Ill search for similar info about Hannity latter. --------------------- Rush Limbaugh is the leader of the Republican Party The conservative radio host loves to talk about himself -- and the GOP base loves to listen, as the rapt throng at CPAC Saturday proved. That makes party bosses nervous. By Thomas Schaller Mar. 01, 2009 | Seizing the opportunity to speak to a national TV audience, conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh told a packed house of cheering supporters at the 2009 Conservative Political Action Committee's annual meeting in Washington to resist President Barack Obama's plans to expand government and not "think like a minority." As Fox, CNN and C-SPAN carried his speech live and commercial-free, Limbaugh closed CPAC's 37th national convention by rallying conservatives still smarting from the Democrats' 2008 sweep of all branches of the national government and expanded electoral reign in the states. Limbaugh exhorted conservatives to stay upbeat, blasted the alleged socialist agenda of the "Democrat Party," and called out the new president, the one he hopes will fail. "President Obama: Your agenda is not new, it's not change, and it's not hope," Limbaugh thundered, to wild applause in the Omni Shoreham's packed Regency Ballroom, as overflow crowds in three of the hotel's other convention rooms watched by live feed. "Spending a nation into generational debt is not an act of compassion." Conservatism itself, preached Limbaugh, was the sole bulwark against the frightening possibility of Obama destroying the country and the Republican Party. "[Conservatism] is what it is and has been forever," he said. "It is not something you can bend or shape." ----------------------------- www.salon.com/news/feature/2009/03/01/limbaugh/print.html
