www.nytimes.com/2019/08/15/opinion/on-immigration-the-democrats-are-playing-into-trumps-hands.html?action=click&module=Opinion&pgtype=Homepage"Democrats should also endorse much stronger interior enforcement, although it is more socially disruptive than border control: Roughly half of the 10.5 million undocumented immigrants in America entered illegally, and the other half overstayed their visas and melted into the population. President Barack Obama took interior enforcement seriously, and Democrats today should not apologize for his actions, deriding him as “deporter in chief” — as they too often do on the stump and the debate stage. Effective interior enforcement means mandating that all employers use an improved, pre-hiring E-verify status check, and occasionally using well-targeted work site audits and arrests to enforce employer sanctions, which have been on the books since 1986. No administration, Republican or Democratic, has made that a priority. But it could be a winning issue for a smart Democratic candidate appealing to American working-class and union voters." Here's an academic nobody telling the Democrats to hew right on immigration, as it will appeal to "working-class and union" deplorables. Personally, I would rather have Trump get reelected than have the Dems smell like Republicans.

So Trump is stealing from the Holy Pentagon to pay for his moronic wall. Take that, military Trumpistas! Whatever happened to Mexico paying for it?

www.nytimes.com/2019/11/12/us/supreme-court-dreamers.html?action=click&module=Well&pgtype=Homepage§ion=US%20News"WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court’s conservative majority on Tuesday appeared ready to side with the Trump administration in its efforts to shut down a program protecting about 700,000 young immigrants known as “Dreamers.” The court’s liberal justices probed the administration’s justifications for ending the program, expressing skepticism about its rationales for doing so. But other justices indicated that they would not second-guess the administration’s reasoning and, in any event, considered its explanations sufficient." Obviously, the Supreme Court has been given over to the haters. On the other hand, there are folks I would like to see dead. But I'm not a judge.

www.nytimes.com/2019/11/14/nyregion/immigrants-drivers-license.html?action=click&module=Latest&pgtype=Homepage"In recent days, at least four clerks have said they will not comply with the law. Although in most states the Department of Motor Vehicles is administered by state agents, in upstate New York these duties frequently fall on county clerks, many of whom are elected. If they deliver on their threats, the clerks could face repercussions: Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo could remove dissenting clerks from office or yank D.M.V. responsibilities away from their counties, which keep a small percentage of the revenue they collect for handling these services." I believe there is a time for Civil Disobedience, but you have to be willing to take the consequences. But being an untrustworthy lib, Cuomo will probably wimp out on firing these clowns.

Since immigration has become a BFD again, I might as well revive this thread. The Republicans busy are turning the working class of America against the working class of our southern neighbors. So what else is new? As Jay Gould said many years ago "I can hire half the working class to kill the other half".

www.newsmax.com/politics/mike-lee-border-cartels-texas/2021/03/26/id/1015311/"Sen. Mike Lee said Friday that people he described as "drug smugglers, cartel members" stood across the Rio Grande River Thursday night and taunted him and other members of a congressional team visiting the nation's southern border to observe conditions there. "(They were) yelling at us, taunting us, shining high candlepower flashlights across the river at us, basically saying we are coming," the Utah Republican, one of 18 GOP members of Congress at the McAllen, Texas, border, said on Fox News' "Fox and Friends." He said there were "drug smugglers, cartel members, people making $14 million every single week while this crisis lasts, bringing people across the border, illegally subjecting them to untold privatizations, sexual abuse, and other horrible things," involved in the verbal barrage." If I was at the border I would taunt these Republican blowhards too. By the way, Newsmax, I'm sure you meant "privations" not "privatizations".

The right wing is getting a lot of mileage out of the surge of minors crossing the border. But it is a matter of perspective whether we can build a wall (literally and figuratively) between us and the people to the south, who are looking for the opportunities of a rich country compared to their poor ones. Globalization is now a dirty word but it is not going to be stymied in the long run and to oppose it is to be left behind.

www.newsmax.com/politics/trump-biden-border-wall-texas/2021/06/30/id/1026981/"It is a vast understatement to say President Joe Biden "has provoked a national security disaster" at the southern border, former President Donald Trump wrote Wednesday in an opinion column. "Biden has enacted the most radical open borders agenda imaginable," Trump said in commentary published in The Washington Times. "This is perhaps the first time in world history a nation has purposely and systematically dismantled its own defenses to invite millions of foreign migrants to enter its territory and break its law." Trump slammed Biden for "utterly depraved" polices that included restoring catch-and-release, tearing up asylum agreements with Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador, and announcing "that anyone on the planet who lives in a crime-afflicted area now qualifies for asylum in the United States." What's funny about this? Trump, of all people, calling Biden's policies "depraved". But Trump writing in the Washington Times is a good fit. Trumpies and Moonies: both cults.

Well, Trump’s fence isn’t completely useless: Murals have been painted on it on the Mexican side.

It’s not only national borders that only affect the poor, but now the border of Texas is an obstacle to desperate women seeking abortions, as the affluent can afford to drive over state lines to get one. And that clown AG of Texas says he is “stimulating interstate commerce”! Is this BS really what the working class is embracing? Of course a lot of working class Blacks and Hispanics are very religious.

From Newsmax:
The Biden administration's inaction on the U.S.-Mexico border has led to hundreds of thousands of people being released into the United States, but there are ways to stem the flow again, Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts said on Newsmax Saturday.
"Customs and Border Patrol has had over 1.3 million contacts through the end of August," Ricketts, who was at the border this past week along with 10 other GOP state leaders to view and discuss the situation, said on Newsmax's "America Right Now."
That means hundreds of thousands are being released into the United States and told to return at some point in the future for a court date that may or may not happen.
Yawn. Another day, another governor from a Guns ‘n Jesus state whining at the border. Personally, I still can’t understand how “Remain in Mexico” could have passed the courts. It makes a mockery of the whole asylum idea in my eyes. And that Trump ass-kisser AMLO was an accomplice.

So Newsmax had a Cuban-American college student on attacking Biden’s border policies. But it would be very Republican of me to criticize a young person. By the way, righties like to claim lefties divide us with class war, but class war is exactly what our border policies are built on.

So “Remain in Mexico” has bitten the dust. For Now. I still disgusted with that Trump ass-kisser AMLO for agreeing with it, but I’m sure he was bought off. There is no reason asylum seekers should have to wait in squalid Mexican camps.

Part of the Replacement Conspiracy is the inane thought that Democrats want “open” borders for New Democratic voters. What a joke. Most of those people are from countries with deep religious beliefs just as likely to vote Republican if they ever get the vote and then even vote at all. I just like “open” borders because it annoys Nationalists. Plus more taco shops.
