Well I felt bad about what happened on another thread for an hour or two but now I'm getting over it. Being a pariah is a tough job but someone has to do it, and I'm used to it. Nice crescent moon setting over the ocean, though...

It's vacation time...I'm going to spend a week on the island incommunicado for a little R & R. Don't wreck the place while I'm gone.

Thanks JD. I thought you were taking the week off to prepare for the rapture but that would have been very presumptuous of you.

Thanks JD. I thought you were taking the week off to prepare for the rapture but that would have been very presumptuous of you. Yeah, I'm sure you got a good laugh out of the whole rapture thing. So did my whole atheist family. I simply think the "rapture" is bad theology.

I’ll confess I did get a ckle but not because of a belief in the rapture but the predicting of the rapture. I’ve read the New Testament twice once the King James Version and the Amplified Version, it is abundantly clear only the father knows the timing of the rapture. If one believes in the trinity that means Jesus or the Holy Spirit has no knowledge of timing.
I think it would be a stretch for Christians not to believe in the rapture, the Bible is very clear it will occur. To criticize or ckle at the rapture would be laughing at Christianity. Hell I don’t believe there’s a God but I don’t find fault with those that believe otherwise. Anyway I’d prefer to stay here and care for all the homeless dogs left behind.

Funny thing about the Bible...IF it were the actual Word of God, I think the Catholics have a wiser attitude: Leave the interpretation of the Bible to the people who have been studying it for hundreds of years, and let them tell you what it means. If you try to do it yourself, you will in all probability get it wrong. I guess that's one reason why I accused the Catholics of being Un-American, as of course Americans believe in Do It Yourself everything.
So as far as the rapture is concerned, is it Catholic dogma or not? I should know but I don't.

I don’t want to hijack your paradise but I know little of the differences between Baptist, Catholics, Lutherans or any other. Seems to me that would be man’s doing and not God’s. What I’ve read in the bible it seems pretty clear, and then man perverts the words. One of the many reasons I don’t buy into any of it.
When we got married the wife wanted a spiritual person to perform the ceremony, I wanted the ceremony so we could make a public commitment of our love but could care less about a spiritual person. So we compromised and picked a lesbian Unitarian minister.

Nothing personal JD, just doing my best to keep the peace.
Watch out for falling coconuts, the wife nearly got hit by one when I was working Fiji.
