On the Saturday before Fathers Day, I moved my younger son to his new digs in Echo Park. My older son helped and we were later joined by his lovely wife. They all took me to a Chinese restaurant called Little Sheep Hot Pot. This one was up in the LA area. It was exquisite. Each table is fitted with an induction stove over which a large pot is placed. In the pot is a flavorful broth that can range in spiciness from very mild to nuclear. You order the ingredients to cook in the broth, Shabu-Shabu style. Meats range from beef, lamb, mutton, port, and various kinds of seafood. A wide variety of vegetables are also ordered. They don't give you any dipping sauce. Trust me, you won't need it. The broth does it all. This is a traditional method of cooking in Mongolia, except that it is in a restaurant and not a tent. The decor is quite pleasing and you get the feeling you have been transported to China. This is a must-try. Check out: Little Sheep Hot Pot 4718 Clairemont Mesa Blvd San Diego, CA 92117
