were you ever in Dallas when kennedy was there? ;D What kind of slanderous remark is that? Insinuating that he might have been an assassin against our President! You are lower than I thought! What I find incredible sickening and disturbing he thinks it’s funny.

I for one I’m sick of some here screaming racism and when challenged tuck their tails and run. Race has had nothing to do with the Sotomayor conformation hearings. It is the left that’s obsessed with racism and prompts an ill agenda to promote a divide. In fact the left in the name of Senator Boxer exhibits more racism than anyone on the right has in the Sotomayor conformation hearings.
Senator Boxer seems to believe that Harry Alford, President and CEO of the Black Chamber of Commerce, should think and act in lock step with other black organizations, like the NAACP. Alford will have none of it and calls Boxer out during a Senate energy hearing for her racial attitude. Good for him!
If anyone is a racist it is lefty Boxer
But you are the guys who are proud of your very own Robert KKK Byrd. Hypocrites.

Turk, OH! I could not agree more. I saw that today. It was despicable. I was soooooo glad that Mr. Alford called her on it. But in her blinded arrogance, she did not get it or didn't care to. In fact, I was going to find his email and applaud and support him. Then I forgot about it until you just brought it up. Thanks for reminding me.

AMERICAN COURTS USING FOREIGN LAW • Sotomayor: "American law does not permit the use of foreign law or international law to interpret the Constitution. There is no debate on that question." I must applaud Sotomayor for her stance concerning foriegn courts dictating to us concerning our constitution! I hope she will have the same stance when the UN comes knocking on our door! It seems that Obama will welcome the transgressions of the UN!

CV,
Not so sure on that. I have read plenty on how she believes we should have an "open mind" to the ideas of international law. Remember that it was Obama, the self-proclaimed "citizen of the world" who nominated her.
I thought the best line of questioning came from Lindsey Graham. Knowing that her confirmation was a foregone conclusion, at one point he said: If this judge thing doesn't work out for you, you should give up on giving speeches. In other words, her past speeches don't jibe with her testimony.
Oh, well, she will be confirmed, and it is amazing to me that a few here have accused the right as "going after her." That is such BS. She got an easy confirmation compared to what the left has dished out in judicial confirmation hearings.

Exactly. That is the main problem the righties have with Sotomayor. Obama nominated her. He could nominate Jesus Christ and there would be complaints. You let the cat out of the bag as to the real motivation for the calling her a "racist", and opposing her nomination.

It couldn't be further from the truth. Anything the right does that doesn't fit within the "desires" of Obama, you acclaim is hatred for Obama! Your memory is very short! Look at all the problems the Democrats gave the Republicans when Roberts and Alioto were nominated. You would have thought they were communists (no they would have had quick nomination!) terrorists or something! This is after the Republicans practically gave a free pass to Clintion's nomination of Breyer and far left leaning Ginsberg! Sotomeyer didn't even get grilled as bad as Thomas from the G.H.W. Bush appointment. Maybe THAT was a real case of racism there! Tell me there is no racism in the Democrat Party, yeah, right! You guys let the media spin you around into a blind frenzy over racism because of their coverage of a case she handled.

Confirmation Hearings Have No Impact on Public Views of Sotomayor
rasmussenreports.com Rasmussenreports.com – Thu Jul 16, 10:45 am ET In Washington, D.C., the Senate Judiciary Committee confirmation hearings for Judge Sonia Sotomayor are being endlessly scrutinized, live-blogged and analyzed. But the hearings so far have had virtually no impact on public opinion.
Rasmussen Reports national telephone polling conducted Tuesday and Wednesday night shows that 87% of U.S. voters expect Sotomayor to be confirmed as a member of the U.S. Supreme Court . Thirty-seven percent (37%) favor her confirmation while 41% are opposed.
Those results are essentially the same as the updates provided yesterday and the day before. In fact, the numbers are pretty much unchanged from a survey conducted in late June. This may suggest that the American people have a good understanding of the fact that, barring a major gaffe, the hearings themselves are unlikely to have any impact on the final result.
Forty-seven percent (47%) of voters believe Sotomayor, President Obama's first nominee for the Supreme Court, is politically liberal while 33% say moderate. Forty-three percent (43%) offer a favorable opinion of the nominee while 47% say unfavorable.
Republicans have been pressing Sotomayor for an explanation on her appellate court ruling rejecting a reverse discrimination case filed by white New Haven firefighters. That ruling was later reversed by the U.S. Supreme Court. Eighty-three percent (83%) of voters say the U.S. legal system should apply the law equally to all Americans rather than using the law to help those who have less power and influence.
I suppose these numbers represents the "majority" of the people that you and Comrade JO keep speaking of. Not very favorable in her behalf but shows they expect she will be confirmed. Now where is the Republicans blocking this confirmation?

Howe many times do I have to repeat: it was NOT a ruling on the "reverse discrimination". It was on whether the city was acting legally on their IMPLEMENTING of the law, NOT the law. C'mon Tired, you re smart enough to understand. I guess you'd rather misinterpret it to prove a point.
