The voice of the rational, intellectual liberal! Now that Mme Cluck is still stumbling in the House and the Reptile is fumbling in the Senate, the country is on the road to recovery! Oh yes!

Haha, now it's two months later, and Mr. Obama is running into trouble. Not unexpectedly, actually, since every President has his own set of problems. Now no one was happier than me to see GW head back to Tex-ass, (hey, I mess with Texas every chance I get), but I had no illusions that we had entered an era of peace, love, and understanding. Obama is doing all sorts of things I think are just plain idiotic, and he will live to regret. Nevertheless, the alternative was even worse. McCain was a geezer hothead flake. Other than that I'm sure he was a nice guy. So hang on, we are in for a rough ride. If I don't die of boredom first...

No president since Roosevelt has come into office facing such a mess as Bush left the country in.I don't know how he sleeps at night.I guess he may not realize the havoc he left behind.

Jimmy "Two Shoes" Carter did a pretty good job screwing things up. Double digit inflation, double digit interest, and double digit unemployment. And the world laughed at us.

Yes, Carter was a sorry excuse for a President. He was from those decades after the McGovern fiasco where apparently the Democrats could only win the White House by running washed-up Southern ex-governors (Carter, Clinton). Fortunately Obama has broken that curse and now the Democrats can tell the South to go F itself. As for you Republicans, I feel sorry for you because your potential slate for 2012 looks as weak as your 2008 group of dwarves. Sorry, Reagan was a generational fluke never to be repeated, a grandfather figure for the Baby Boomers, and apparently younger voters are not looking for one of those anymore. And I doubt old man Bush can get Jeb into the White House like he did George Jr. Obama is really going to have to screw up to not get reelected, and although Republican Clown Radio has already tried and convicted him as incompetent, I'm not sure a majority of voters have come to that conclusion yet. Give him 4 years at least, he might just oblige you.

jdredd,
I agree on two points, the republicans don’t have a leader nor do they have a direction. Secondly, 2012 is for Obama to loose and at the current pace, he maybe in deep stuff two years from now.

Despite all the sniping and mockery, the president has the support of the American people by over 2 to 1,according the the latest Gallup daily tracking poll.It differs from most other polls as it is a running average over the last 5 or 7 days, which gives it more stability but less ability to change if a major event occurs that would change the results.

No, we want to talk NOW. Just kidding. But it's only money, and money is an illusion. And so is debt. You only owe somebody something if you agree you owe them. For instance, the national debt at this time amounts to $36,000 per person, or $72,000 for my family. Do I owe that? Not a chance. I didn't spend it and I'm NOT paying it back. So there.

Your absolutely right its all perception. But when the faith is gone so is the economy and especially the currency. Even the chinese are affraid we will start paying them with inflated dollars and they want insurance.( wonder if the heard about aig/)

You wish...., If you add in the entitlements (promises of payments we have already legislated) the amount is over a hundred and fifty thousand each. I share that number with my students and actually make them borrow the money and pay it back with interest. It takes them about five minutes to catch their breath and to blink again, but once they get the math my message about making sure they get an education carries a little more weight. I say we invest heavily in education and then tax the you know what out of them.
