Reaction among Republicans is mixed; most are not sure what she is thinking. Democrats are laughing. I suspect that she will be "retiring" from running for office. Her family members have been rediculed, embarrassed and been part of nasty jokes from day one of her being announced as a VP candidate. To end a career to stop those things from happening to your family is a no brainer decision. Of COURSE the DEMOCRATS ARE LAUGHING! They were successfully ruining a family, moreso than a politician! That is a lot to laugh about! I could only question the outroar that would have occured if Geraldine Ferraro would have been put through the same level of scrutiny. Yes, she had some difficulties but most had to do with revealing her and her husbands finances and her immediate repayment of $53,000 back taxes that the Democratic Party had not "vetted" out! Gee, back taxes even back then!

I do have to admit the number of Democrats who have tax problems is amusing. But you have to remember that many Democratic politicians come from financially "successful" families who want power, but the Republican Party is already full!

The begining of the end for Palin was the moment she opened her mouth....and our country wisely voted accordingly. I pray to god she runs for president !!!!!

Has anybody seen her resignation speech? An instant classic. Resentment and self pity run amok, junior high school level. "I have taken slings and arrows"..."I know when it's time to pass the ball-for victory"( ). What was she saying about "dead fish"? Staying in office is "the quitter's way". ( ) Basketball( ) Resigning to keep herself from going overseas on lavish taxpayer funded junkets.( ) When she was the "golden girl", she had fun, everybody in Alaska adored her, she got all she wanted. Now the pressure is intense and she is quitting. She is way down in the polls, being criticized from her own party, and is devisive. Her incoherent speech has left people wondering if she has lost it.

Gee, back taxes even back then! Laughing unfortunately when shame is appropriate. It is sad commentary on the American people when a person that desires to run is crucified. She did quit without a solid reason, ammunition to be used in the future should she desire to stay in politics. Since quitting does not seem her nature I suspect she just had enough of character assassinations. I hope she goes on the lecture circuit and cashes in big time, of course there’s the book deal.

Jack Well you got me I have no idea what I was trying to say. I use turk on other boards, I tried to change the other boards to CM but no one would cooperate so I decided to change the one I could. This way I don’t have to remember, when you get as old as I remembering is important.

Well, turk (aka CM) I guess I sorta understand your need to try and maintain your sanity by narrowing it down to just one screen name. I switched to "Jack" (not my real name) for almost all the other boards and forums that I go to. I'll just have to get used to the new name.
