Let's put it another way jg: If two young rednecks had shown up at a poll in Mississipi with baseball bats claiming to be KKK and had done nothing, do I think they should do prison time? Hardly. The sheriff should take them home to their mamas and they should get a good whippin'...

It could never work that way JD. The 2 young rednecks would insight a RIOT and in minutes it would be a full fledged racial breakdown! I would not like to see the "momma" that spanked those 2 Panthers! That woman would make Pelosi look like Mother Teresa

Good grief. I don't care if you are white, black, brown, green, red, yellow, blue, purple, orange, pink, indigo, turquoise, or the popular seafoam blue-green. These Black Panther thugs should have been held responsible.
The career lawyers thought so. It was Eric Holder, the current administration's AG, who put the skids on even a slap on the wrist.

It happened and nothing happened. Nobody were deterred from voting. No voters from that precinct complained. The only arms involved was a nightstick, and he left when asked by the police. The right wing media blew the whole thing up and generated all type of rumors of riots and mass intimidation, threats against voters, and mayhem, all of which were false. There was no crime committed. The only violation was the nightstick, and that was solved immediately. From they way you all are talking, there was an army of Black Muslims armed with machine guns threatening Republican voters. No one was deterred from voting nor threatened. Even FOX dropped the story for lack of substance.

Really?
Can you point out where ANYONE here has said that? Where are YOU getting your information?

Quotes from: Bruce That is an assumption. Nobody was reported as having been deterred, but then that doesn't mean they didn't turn around and go home! A complaint was filed that is why the news and police showed up! Correct about the nightstick being the only weapon. THAT is a violation of the law concerning activity within the range of the polls! Should be prosecuted! The left wing media had almost as much in dismissing the issue, only AFTER it became obvious that it was EXPOSED on youtube! WRONG! A nightstick is a weapon that is prohibited from being on site of a polling station! NOW YOU ADMIT TO A VIOLATION! Who here has said ANYTHING like that? Where are you getting this stuff? Must be from your left wing media! Somebody at the polls with a nightstick could be considered threatening by many voters, particularly elderly and mentally impaired of whom may be of ANY PARTY! A violation of law occured and that person must be held accountable in a court of law. Particularly since it occured within the boundaries of a polling place and involved a weapon, used or not! This was NOT a partisan issue! It became a partisan issue in the manner in which the LACK OF PROSECUTION is taking place!

I have to say at least the Boomers got one thing right: They had the best music. Is it because you have to be a little wild to make great music and Gen X was pretty docile?

This was NOT a partisan issue! It became a partisan issue in the manner in which the LACK OF PROSECUTION is taking place! Since the turnout was very high, reporters reported people going in and out as normal, no one was stopped, it can be assumed, along with the fact no one complained, that no one one was deterred. The nightstick was a violation; the police came, asked that the man leave, which he did. The police were called by a Republican poll watcher from a different precinct who came to the precinct in question. This was the only complaint lodged, he was not a voter in the precinct. He came there, apparently, to create an issue. The Philadelphia police were satisfied with the outcome; the man with the nightstick left. The AG rightfully dropped the case. There was no case.

Tired is right we don’t know how many intimidated voters left unwilling or fearful to cast their vote. The issue is the issue made because a Republican poll watcher came from another precinct, I call that responsible and doing his job, thankfully he made the effort.
What the AG said by dropping the case “it’s okay to bring a nightstick to polling places, intimidate voters, but if you get caught you have to leave and nothing will happen.” The AG set a very dangerous precedent.
Had this been the other side it probably would have made 23 front page appearances of the times Times.
I noticed the order of words in one of Bruce’s posts “Black Muslims” which Rocket was chastised for instead of the order "Blacks that are Muslims." Which is it?

I noticed the order of words in one of Bruce’s posts “Black Muslims” which Rocket was chastised for instead of the order "Blacks that are Muslims." Which is it? As for Black Muslims, it depends on whether one is referring to Black Muslims, followers of a particular type of Islam led by Farrakhan, or whether one is talking about a muslim who is black. It's not brain science. The police didn't even find it necessary to cite or make an arrest at the scene since he followed their instructions and left. You people are making a major issue out of a minor incident. The fact that observers saw no one stopped, people came and went freely, and there were no "confrontations" with anyone except the staged one with a FOX reporter make it obvious NOTHING happened. Another reporter from the local FOX station came to the scene, walked in, saw people quietly voting, and left. The video is on You Tube. It's obvious this is being pushed by the right in order to try to connect the President with the Black Panthers. It's like the birth certificate issue, the "is he a muslim", "is he a terrorist" issues, the "whitey tape" of Michelle, and all of the other phony smears the right is great at generating. Fortunately, few are biting at the bait.

You hit the nail on the head Bruce.
The right wing extreamist Talk Radio are STILL fantasizing about President Obama being a muslim.
Rick Roberts had callers on Friday demanding President Obama step down because he is a muslim and Rick just let those lies air all morning on the radio.
Muslim, Kenyan Birthcertificat, what a bunch of lies and deceit. Its kinda funny there are some who still cling to such smears. But it's scary some realy do believe it..
It's like they want to believe the worst, even if untrue.

Bruce, I disagree the only people on this message board continually talking about “birth certificate” and “whitey tapes” are you and JO, yes and none of us are taking both of your continues’ baiting and baiting it is. Perhaps you might want to look for a relevant nail.
The order of Black and Muslim is a moving target; I’ll work on the Brain Science.
The fact that nothing happened as you say is not the issue the AG set the stage for something to happen which is irresponsible.

The sheriff should take them home to their mamas and they should get a good whippin'... Perhaps in the past, yes! Now, there would be no toleration and jail time would be a done deal after the trial! What Mr Holder has done is create another "special category" for people of color to be excused from prosecution, in other words prosecution before the law is not equal! This is "empathy" at work and, now, the law becomes malleable for "special consideration."

Would you consider that intimidation?
