I think it is more that he has no business in assuming the responsibility. He's a kid. He is a well polished kid. He has chosen kids for his cabinet, with perhaps one exception.
I would add that he is a kid that lives in a dream world that many young people live. Many of us probably had more liberal beginnings in our earlier days experiencing politics and the heady rush of "being part of something big, really big, man!". I know some have grown out of it.
I am not talking about democrats that care. I am talking about those that care about nothing more than a dream that departs from reality.
Barrack Obama is the poster boy for this departure.
Gate A-6. Obama talks of hope and dreams just the way a community organizer does. Gee, I wonder where he learned that? Obama sounds like the countries biggest cheerleader but we already had one of those (Bush). He needs to get off of his campaign rhetoric and focus on doing the job. He wants everything done yesterday, no time to read the bills (Congress or the President), and just throw a whole lot of money at it. Well, AIG has come back to bite him for it. One hundred an eighty million dollars in bonuses......but they are willing to return fifty million! Excuse me? Now some of the Democrats state they were coerced to push this bill through, particularly the bonus allowance. Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream and tried to make it a reality. Jesse Jackson and others all tried to be like him but have failed miserably! Obama took on his job as community organizer, yet for all the work he did he had accomplished very little. His biggest project was not really his and the most important part was finished after he left for state office. And now he is letting his inexperience allow the Democrats in Congress to do what they want and make it appear they are supporting Obama. Yeah, right! Obama needs to slow everything down, grow a pair, and take control....if he can!

I figured it out overnight. You all watched the press conference on FOX and they somehow figured it out a way to add and delete from the press conference to make the president look bad. He is taking his message directly to the people.I particularly liked his response to the question as to why his response to the AIG mess was delayed:"because I wanted to know what I was talking about".What a change from the recent past.In all of your amnesia and criticisms, they all seem to be Republican talking points.

When preparing to leave a restaurant, I always read the bill. There have been those rare times when items not ordered appeared on the bill. I do the same thing with the grocery receipt and auto repair bill.
"...because I wanted to know what I was talking about".
A responsible adult would have checked the bill before signing it.

... Zogby has him down to 50% Rasmussen at 56% approval. His problem is himself, too many promises, high expectation and little change. Obama is his worst enemy. I think it is more that he has no business in assuming the responsibility. He's a kid. He is a well polished kid. He has chosen kids for his cabinet, with perhaps one exception. I would add that he is a kid that lives in a dream world that many young people live. I am not talking about democrats that care. I am talking about those that care about nothing more than a dream that departs from reality. Barrack Obama is the poster boy for this departure. Gate A-6. I remember having a dream when I was younger. And I remember how that dream was shattered by cold hard reality. But I had a choice: give up on dreams and resign myself to reality, or continue the dream no matter what. I resigned myself to reality, but now in my later years that is not enough. I have had to try to rebuild the dreams, and to hell with so-called reality! I have an alternate reality now...

Bruce,
FOX sure has some great technology you should watch sometime, no one that I know of on FOX gets tingle sensation running up their leg.
Some of us see Obama through a different lens.
jdredd,
I keep dreaming of hitting six numbers but every Saturday night I get a reality check.

An interesting piece from Nielsen: A focus group composed of Dems,Repubs and Independents,in proportion to registration, watched the press conference, armed with dials that indicated their feelings. Not surprisingly, dems and independents rated the press conference much higher than repubs. When Ed Henry asked about AIG,repubs response was up and when Obama answered,it went down.Exact opposite with the dems and independents. Also dems and repubs came away with the same overall ratings as before the press conference, but independents were more positive towards Obama after than before.I guess our reactions were predestined. If you're pro-Obama,he gave a good press conference,if your anti-Obama,it was not a good performance. It's all in the eye of the beholder.

Political satire has been with us forever and I just went back to the TOTUS blog for a look. Barack Obama's Teleprompter's BlogReflections from the hard drive of the machine that enables the voice of the Leader of the Free World baracksteleprompter.blogspot.com/It is very clever and funny stuff, but I guess if you're a dyed in the wool Obamanite you won't find it amusing.

These are the people you don’t see on the news who fall between the cracks. Unfortunately they are many of these folks out there and they will be there for some time to come. Count your blessings. The is a short advertisement clip before the story. abcnews.go.com/video/playerIndex?id=7175986

The video is a eyeopener-victims of 8 years of mis-management of the economy. What about those who don't have an RV to live in?They're on the streets, part of an increase in the number of former middle class families destroyed.

There were people living in mobile home parks and RV parks since well before the 1990's. Some have rather nice rigs, other more humble. I don't mean to sound so flip as to say "Home is where you hang your hat". It is just that these are the kinds of homes that people could afford for many reasons.
Former President Clinton grew up in one.
We have a travel trailer. It's an RV you pull around behind you. It's OK, I suppose. We look at it as a home away from home and a home to go to if things go south on us for some reason. It is surrounded by others which the owners live full time. Some do because it is cheap living. Some because of its location and beauty and still others because they need to be away from the noisy burbs.
The fellow in the ABC news piece had a bit of bad luck. He left one job to go to another. It fell through. He rolled the dice and lost. How that can be blamed on the previous administration is difficult for me to understand.

Who then is to be held responsible for the current economic slump ,I thought the president has ultimate responsibility.Lack of oversight, reducing taxes only for the wealthy, etc took their toll .I realize Bush didn't create this by himself but like Harry Truman said,"the buck stops here".Having an RV as a "home away from home" is great.Having it as your home is another thing.Voluntarily living in a RV is fine;no one with children would opt for that except perhaps some eccentrics. My folks lived in a double wide mobile home in la Vista for years after retiring. That is a far cry from 3,4,5 or more living in an RV. As a sidenote to all you "TOTUS" fans, all presidents in modern times have used telepromters;most were able to read them, one in particular couldn't.The current president certainly is able to read it,you can guess which one couldn't.

I just got an email offer from the Chicago Tribune to sign up for its new "electronic edition" for only $2.50/week to get an on-line edition that shows the entire paper "just as it appears in print". They currently offer a free on-line service that does require registration and the only reason I signed up was because I wanted to view stories that were linked on other sites. I'm not inclined to pay for on-line news content when the current offerings are supported by advertising links. What do you think? You can read these newspapers at the Public Library for free!

What is noteworthy about Obama's "press conference" was they he didn't take one question from any of the reporters who were from a financial news source. He does have his moments of self-preservation! Could you see him handling a question of that sort from someone who is versed in finance?
