While America's bullying ways are somewhat on hold at the moment, I'm sure they will come roaring back once this pox has blown over.

www.nytimes.com/2020/05/25/world/americas/Iranian-oil-tankers-venezuela.html?action=click&module=News&pgtype=Homepage"BOGOTÁ, Colombia — An oil tanker called “Fortune” has sailed into Venezuela from Iran, the first of five ships expected to arrive in a nation so starved of gasoline that the docking of a single tanker was hailed on Monday by government officials as a victory. The move represented a deepening of economic relations between Venezuela and Iran, two pariah states run by authoritarian leaders subject to punishing sanctions by the United States government. Representatives of both nations cast the transaction as a sign of strength. “Thanks Iran,” Venezuela’s leader, Nicolás Maduro, tweeted on Sunday, adding that amid U.S. opposition “only the brotherhood of free peoples will save us.” A spokeswoman for the U.S. State Department, Morgan Ortagus, criticized the move, accusing the Maduro government of being a “criminal organization” that used illegally obtained gold to purchase fuel from Tehran. But she did not say whether the U.S. would attempt to block the shipments, or if it would respond with further sanctions on either nation." America's bullying is driving these two nations together. Not that it matters, since 0 + 0 = 0.

www.nytimes.com/2021/07/05/opinion/us-china-covid-lies.html?action=click&module=Opinion&pgtype=Homepage"In fact, nobody is trying to bully, oppress or enslave China. The century of humiliation is long over. This month marks the 50th anniversary of Henry Kissinger’s secret visit to Beijing, which initiated a long bipartisan American effort to help raise China from the depths into which Mao’s catastrophic leadership had sunk it. The effort succeeded in turning one of the world’s poorest countries into one of the richest." It's not enough that we take credit for the fall of the Iron Curtain, but here we are asked to believe we are responsible for China's economic boom!

It is looking more and more like America’s arrogance will take a hit in Afghanistan. We will be better for it.

I mentioned American paranoia in another thread. And isn’t it a great combination: Arrogance and paranoia. But perhaps the arrogance is overcompensating for the paranoia.

Now I’ve heard it all: U.S. officials telling the Afghan Army to fight harder. I’m sure they will be thrilled to die for Washington.

I feel the need to refocus this thread away from general American arrogance and more specifically the American threat to world peace. If their is one, because I’m going to start with the evidence that we are not looking for war, and all our bluster and meddling is designed to deter war. In fact, I’ll start with saying the one thing Reagan got right was not starting a war, and maybe his military buildup prevented a war. But I’m not totally convinced. Has “Peace Through Strength” always worked throughout history? Obviously not.

Changed the name of this thread back to America the Arrogant, since NATO seems to be merrily marching to war as much as the US.

As I mentioned elsewhere, a new Russia-China alliance may be in the works. Why would they want one? Maybe because for them, America is the belligerent power. Certainly American military power has pushed up to the threshold of both of them and is increasing daily in both Taiwan and the Ukraine. On a side note, there has been loose talk here at home about a Second Civil War over I’m not sure what. But if I was Russia and China, I might do anything I could to encourage the idea.

Here’s the title of a column by Ron Paul on Newsmax: “Blame Ukraine crisis on U.S. Interventionism”. When I agree with Ron Paul on anything, you know we are in trouble. And I agree Obama was a big villain in all this, backing the 2014 Ukraine coup.

I’m enjoying watching India standing up to American bullying and continuing to buy Russian oil. Our message to them: Buy our oil, not theirs, ‘cause we are good and they are evil. 😜

Now that the Supreme Court has opened Pandora’s box and set American against American, could it affect America’s world domination? Probably not, but anything is possible. How much longer can the world dance to our tune when we are so effed up?

It is America’s vanity that will destroy it, thinking we can control events in Russia and China and the rest of the world.

If you were working to diminish American influence worldwide, you couldn’t do any better than what Biden is doing. Is it the start of the twilight of our world domination? Will we start closing some of our 800 overseas bases as the world turns against us? Long overdue. Thank you, Joe!

Looks like American arrogance is driving Saudi Arabia into the arms of Russia and China.
