Yeah, well, he is pretty much forgotten by most of the world now, so this thread is kind of a waste. But I did want to mention how despicable I think Bill Clinton and Barack Obama are for not pardoning him, whereas I expect injustice from Republican Presidents.

Poor Leonard is forgotten by America, but hey! Beyonce is at Coachella! Do countries have karma? Probably not, since England is still around. But they may be self-destructing with Brexit.

I know talking about Leonard is beating a dead horse by now (well, he's not dead yet), but I love lost causes as anyone who reads my posts know. So I will continue to keep this thread on the front page, for all the good it will do in an uncaring world.

It will be hard to keep this thread at the top of the pile, since not only has Leonard been forgotten, the era of AIM is almost forgotten. Radical movements of the 60's and 70's are of an era that has passed. We are in a time where a guy like Warren Buffett is idolized.

Other people might forget Leonard, but I don't want to. So I'll keep bumping this thread. By the way, FBI: you suck.

Tomorrow is the 142nd anniversary of The Battle of the Greasy Grass (aka Battle of Little Bighorn), a good day to celebrate. It was a bump in the road for the European invader's attempts at genocide of indigenous Americans, which fortunately failed.

I was day dreaming the other day, and I was wondering what one thing I would say to Trump given the opportunity. And I decided I'd tell him to free the guy who's spent 40 years in prison after being framed by the FBI. Maybe mentioning the FBI would make him consider it.

www.nytimes.com/2018/10/29/opinion/north-dakota-senate-native-american-voters.html?action=click&module=Opinion&pgtype=Homepage"Ahead of the midterm elections, the state of North Dakota is using one of the most restrictive voter identification laws in the country to engage in that most American of traditions: excluding and discriminating against indigenous people. Thanks to the state’s Republican Party, all who want to take part in the democratic process must have a residential address on their identification cards. However, many tribal citizens in North Dakota don’t have residential addresses or postal service. There are five federally recognized tribes in the state, with five reservations. More than 31,000 indigenous people live in North Dakota, and around 60 percent of that population lives on reservations. Those tribal citizens are usually issued tribal ID cards by their nations or by the Bureau of Indian Affairs. That makes those documents federally recognized, and once issued, they can be used for everything from getting through security at the airport to opening bank accounts. But they can no longer be used to vote. This is egregious even by the standards of Republicans’ all-out voter suppression war. Native voters in the state typically cast ballots for Democrats, and a quick glance at voting maps shows that they are concentrated in four areas — islands of blue in a sea of red. If those Democrat-leaning areas are overlaid on maps of the state’s reservations, the boundaries align. With the new voter ID law, which will exclude voters in precisely these areas, those blue precincts can now turn red. Magic!" Of course, what do you expect from the Old White Guy Party? Still, I'm sure they believe they are the good guys. Everybody does.

www.nytimes.com/2018/11/09/climate/judge-blocks-keystone-pipeline.html?action=click&module=News&pgtype=Homepage"WASHINGTON — As the Trump administration has moved aggressively to roll back environmental protections and speed up oil and coal projects, it has repeatedly been blocked by courts finding that the administration did not follow longstanding rules in making its sweeping changes. Now, a federal judge has issued a repudiation of one of President Trump’s first acts as president, his decision to allow the disputed Keystone XL oil pipeline to proceed, saying that the administration failed to present a “reasoned explanation” for the move and “simply discarded” the effect the project would have on climate change. The decision could thrust the White House into a contentious new legal battle over climate change." Not surprisingly, Native American's objections to the pipeline going over their water sources was not a factor. Indians getting run over by the white man once again.

So the latest cultural brouhaha is the Covington Catholic Boys vs. the Indian Activist. I wish I had something insightful to say, but I don't. I am rather saddened by the Catholic boys wearing Trump hats, though. For me it sums up everything that is going wrong with the Catholics. They might as well just fold up their tents and become Evangelicals.

It really is fun watching an America united behind Trump's attack on the Maduro regime. USA! USA! But closer to home, we have a new battle between the white folks of the Republican controlled county Board of Supervisors and the Indians of the Santa Ysabel reservation. The Board outlawed pot sales on unincorporated parts of the county (yes, they can do that despite legalization), but those wacky Indians are selling it out of their closed casino out in the sticks, and Diane Jacobs, geezer anti-pot Chairman (I refuse to use "Chairperson") of the Board is having fits about it, and is trying to find a way to end it. It will be fun watching!

www.nytimes.com/2019/08/22/opinion/native-american-democrats.html?action=click&module=Opinion&pgtype=Homepage"No American citizen should have to drive 100 miles to vote, especially if the roads to a far-flung polling place are maintained by the chronically underfunded Bureau of Indian Affairs. (On the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation, two people died in July because of a washed-out section of highway on BIA Road 3.) Janet Davis, of Nevada’s Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribal Council, quizzed Marianne Williamson and Bernie Sanders about voting access. She explained that in 2016, her tribe and the Walker River Paiutes won a lawsuit to establish satellite polling places on their reservations. (From Pyramid Lake, the county’s nearest voting site had been a 96-mile round trip.)"

Maybe if Pocahontas is elected Prez, SHE will free Leonard Peltier. But I wouldn't bet on it, since you can't trust a liberal.

Either I never heard of the guy or my memory failed once again, so I looked him up. Don't hold much hope that the fake Indian would do anything for a real Indian, first the fake would need to be elected which will NEVER happen. Leo is a murderer, scalp him and let the ravens feast on the exposed skin, that's justice. If he were smart, he would have committed his crimes in Vermont, then he could have lived out his years on commie ice cream.

AS I've said before, Obama is on my permanent sh%t list for not giving him clemency. And I know how you love Obama. By the way, Peltier has petitioned Trumpy for clemency.
