www.nationalreview.com/article/419151/lindsey-graham-launches-presidential-bid-foreign-policy-front-and-center-julia"South Carolina senator Lindsey Graham became the ninth Republican to enter the 2016 presidential race on Monday, promising a campaign focused squarely on defeating the terrorist threat. “I want to be president to to defeat the enemies that are trying to kill us, not just penalize them or criticize them or contain them, but defeat them,” Graham told the crowd assembled in his hometown of Central, S.C. “Ronald Reagan’s policy of peace through strength kept America safe during the Cold War. Remember those times? But I have come to conclude that we will never enjoy peaceful coexistence with radical Islam because its followers intend to destroy our way of life.” Thanks, South Carolina, but no thanks. And yes, I remember "those times". And how Reagan bailed out of Lebanon after the Marine barracks was bombed. In fact, the one positive thing I have to say about Reagan is unlike Bush I & II, he didn't get us into a war.

www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/who-had-the-worst-week-in-washington-sen-mitch-mcconnell/2015/06/05/d38b84d6-0aea-11e5-95fd-d580f1c5d44e_story.html"Mitch McConnell is the master of Senate rules and regulations. He proved that time and again during Republicans’ long, dark spell in the minority, using the arcana that is the Senate rule book to stall or stop legislation that he and his side didn’t like. That’s why McConnell’s mishandling — by anyone’s assessment — of the Senate floor debate this past week over the National Security Agency’s bulk collection of telephone data was so baffling." “Most puzzling to some were the veteran lawmaker’s actions that allowed a first-term senator . . . to use the Senate’s elaborate rules to delay things long enough to cause the entire USA Patriot Act to lapse for a couple of days, starting at midnight Sunday,” the Associated Press’s ck Babington and Laurie Kellman wrote about McConnell’s flub. Paul lost on policy but won on politics: He scored lots and lots of attention for the suspension of the provisions for 48 hours or so. McConnell wound up taking the deal he could have taken long before — passing the House version of the legislation, which will end the government’s bulk collection of Americans’ phone records." Ha-ha! Rand Paul made dirtbag McConnell look bad. Makes my day. Hey, with the open primary system I can vote for Rand even though I'm not in the GOP, right?

Anyone have a clue how many republicans are vying for the nomination? Seems every time I turn on the tube someone else is running. Hope Rick Perry remembers to vote. I wonder if he'll make Fox's top ten list.

I just read "The Donald" will announce he's running on June 16. He gets my vote, his daughter is hot.

Your criteria for choosing a favorite candidate is better than 99.9% of the American electorate IMHO. So why not the biggest clown of all in the GOP Parade of Clowns? I'm not sure how many floats are in the parade at the moment, but more are expected to join. I just wish Daenerys Targaryen was running. She'd have my vote no matter what the party. And dragons would be so much more fun running around the WH then just a dog. Sadly, Hillary reminds me more of Cercei. Of course, maybe we need a Cercei in the Oval Office. Bad girls can be so much fun.

Since the presidency has become nothing but a sad commentary, I'll vote for unrelated attributes. The Donald's daughter makes Killery's daughter look like a Salvation Army doll. To turn things around it is going to take a person that makes no sense. That just might be The Donald and a hot daughter. The Donald also has two brilliant sons. I'd like to see what happens if the country were run like a business and not as "cover your ass."

You just never can be sure where our next great leader may come from. You just roll the dice and hope for the best. Sad to say our last 3 Presidents have been the dice coming up snake eyes.

It is foolish to think The Donald could be president. I think it is more foolish to think Hilary should be president. Since Ben Carson the best of the pack has zero chance and the rest of the republican clowns belong in the circus let's do something dramatically different. Obliviously the last few decades haven't worked. Hot daughter WH that's my vote.

Yep. Unless old Ben can find a billionaire sugar daddy, he doesn't have much of a chance. He definitely looks good by comparison. Trump can of course, fund himself. But my money is still on Jeb, even with the Koch money bankrolling Walker, if only behind the scenes for now.

By hinting at a strategic shakeup that will include tough hits on high-flying opponents, the operative says Bush hopes to stop donors from jumping ship." My money in this horse race is still on old Jeb and his connections, even though Walker has the Koch dollars.

america.aljazeera.com/opinions/2015/6/the-conservative-base-is-overrated.html"For almost 30 years, a far-right faction of Republicans has been asking for a nominee that satisfies their conservative needs. Pat Robertson tried in 1988. Pat Buchanan ran in 1992 and 1996. Gary Bauer, 2000; Mike Huckabee and Ron Paul, 2008. Each time, the conservatives got a loyal party man: George H.W. Bush, Bob Dole, John McCain and Mitt Romney. And with a single one-term exception — Bush, 1988 — they all lost, because they weren’t conservative enough. That, anyway, is the theory. Now the Republicans have, in Rick Santorum, a candidate who’s a conservative runner-up. There’s little point in dissecting the challenges Santorum faces. According to Politico, the former senator is polling near the bottom of a packed Republican field. One poll by Public Policy Polls shows him trailing Scott Walker by five points and tied with Ben Carson in his home state of Pennsylvania. Just about the only thing going for poor Santorum is the backing of conservative billionaire Foster Friess." So here is Santorum's billionaire sugar daddy. As always, it is a symbiotic relationship of two massive egos.

At least the republicans have options. Killary will sit back and let them eat their own. I do fell sorry for the democrats, they don't have to think. Ummmm
