Ya know, I almost hope a Republicon gets into the WH in 2017. At least it would stop the endless whining from the right about how much the President sucks. You don't remember that when Bush was in office there was endless whining from the right about how much the President sucks.

But I do remember how President Reagan walked on water according to the right wing blowhards.

www.cnn.com/2015/04/20/politics/2016-scott-walker-david-koch/index.html "(CNN)Billionaire businessman and powerful Republican donor David Koch wants Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker to be the next president but doesn't plan to financially back anyone during the primaries. Koch made the comments Monday at a private gathering hosted by the New York State Republican Party at the Union League Club in Manhattan. They were described to CNN by two attendees who were in the room. Walker, who has yet to launch his expected White House campaign, spoke at the GOP event on Monday. After the governor left the room, Koch delivered remarks, saying he plans to remain neutral during the primary season even though he personally supports and likes Walker, the two sources said. Koch also emphasized that he will support the eventual Republican presidential nominee during the general election and hopes to raise around $900 million to back that candidate." Walker is a Koch toady. Now there's news. How many people hadn't figured that out by now? David K. claims he's not bankrolling Walker. Not directly, at least. But how much of the good press Walker has been getting is because of Koch money? How about secret donations to PACs?

Both sides will spend insane amounts of money. At least Walker isn't being bought by foreign governments.

900 mil is not enough. It will take 1.1 to 1.5 billion. I guess that means I won't run.

www.thenation.com/article/205121/real-gop-primary-almost-over"We saw the 2016 GOP presidential field for the first time in mid-April, when 19 Republicans appeared onstage in New Hampshire for a “First in the Nation” candidate forum. Most of the speakers had not yet formally declared for the presidency, and everyone was testing out their tentative campaign message on primary voters. But this was not the beginning of the GOP contest—in fact, the most important part is almost over. For months, the candidates had been frantically competing in the “invisible primary,” an ignominious feature of post–Citizens United politics in which the dollars of generous conservative benefactors are the prize. Candidates crisscrossed the country at a furious pace, and with as little public fanfare as possible. Even those who desperately need media attention studiously avoided reporters as they visited some of the nation’s most decadent outposts of wealth. There was the Club for Growth retreat at the Breakers resort in Palm Beach, Florida; a confab held by Sheldon Adelson at his Venetian casino in Las Vegas; an exclusive American Enterprise Institute donor conference at Sea Island, Georgia; and a conclave held by the Koch brothers at the Ritz-Carlton in Rancho Mirage, California." I think b has hit the nail on the head: The whole thing is rigged, just like Wall Street.

www.washingtontimes.com/news/2015/apr/28/scott-walker-up-double-digits-in-iowa-poll/"A new poll shows Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker sitting atop a handful of 2016 GOP contenders in the early presidential state of Iowa, notching a 10-point lead over his nearest rival. Mr. Walker, who has not yet officially declared his candidacy, was the choice of 23 percent of Republicans, followed by Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida at 13 percent and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush at 12 percent, according to the survey released Tuesday by the Democratic firm Public Policy Polling. Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky were next at 10 percent apiece, followed by 8 percent for Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, 7 percent for retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, 5 percent for New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, and 4 percent for former Texas Gov. Rick Perry. Mr. Cruz, Mr. Paul, and Mr. Rubio are the only three major Republicans to have officially announced they are running for president in 2016." How did Walker somehow leap to the top of the heap? Oh, I can guess, and it rhymes with "shock". But can Koch money really beat Bush connections? If Bush mysteriously decides not to run...

www.nationalreview.com/article/417627/how-jeb-bush-lost-sheldon-adelson-primary-eliana-johnson"Most Republican presidential contenders are trying to woo GOP megadonor Sheldon Adelson, who in 2012 demonstrated his ability to bankroll a campaign almost singlehandedly when he kept former House speaker Newt Gingrich’s presidential prospects alive long after most expected him to bow out of the race. But in the Sheldon primary, according to multiple sources, one top candidate is already a dead man. That’s former Florida governor Jeb Bush, whose aides have, for the past several months, been making overtures to Adelson in an attempt to get him to open his wallet to a Bush super PAC that is expected to raise record sums. But at this point, it looks like none of that money will come from Adelson." UH-oh, Bush did not pander to Israel enough for Sheldon. Oh well. What cracks me up is the name of Bush's Super Pac: "Right to Rise". What the heck does that mean? Almost as lame as Romney's 2012 slogan, "Believe in America". But if you really want to gag, there is nothing like Hillary's super PAC, "Ready for Hillary". But it at least is right to the point.

Bernie Sanders ready to enter the race. Will he be Hilary's Ross Perot? He's running for the Democratic Party nomination in the primaries, not the general election. Perot ran as a third party independent in the presidential election, and that's how he siphoned off votes from Bush.

So a 73-year-old codger who calls himself a Socialist is running? I imagine the average Millennial voter asking "What's a Socialist?"...

But
I don’t think Saunders could achieve the democratic nomination however he is an Independent that caucuses with democrats. So the question would be: Would he run as an independent in general election?

www.reuters.com/article/2015/05/07/us-usa-election-jindal-idUSKBN0NS2DG20150507"(Reuters) - Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal told Fox News on Thursday he will decide on whether he will seek the Republican presidential nomination once the state legislature concludes its current session next month. "If we make a decision to get in, it will be shortly after our session. So June 11 is when the session ends," he said." Jump on in, Bobby, one more float in the Parade of Clowns won't hurt. And of course he said he might run on the Voice of the GOP, Fox News. Or is it the GOP that is the political wing of Fox News?
