I guess my expectations are simply misplaced. I actually expect some tiny amount of real journalism to come out of Fox News, when it is actually just an entertainment channel, like talk radio. The top story today on TFS was those three black teenagers who beat up that white kid. (Is this hoopla about that incident supposed to balance out the Trayvon Martin killing for Fox News viewers? I'm wondering) Really, does this beating really have more than a trivial significance on the world? I wonder what people will think looking back at this passing for news after some real catastrophe occurs.

www.salon.com/2013/08/16/new_package_same_fox_ailes_courts_the_non_elderly/"The most interesting nugget from all this came from Fox News CEO Roger Ailes, who in an interview with host Neil Cavuto, neither confirmed nor denied specifics as to which hosts would be moving where, but did give us a window into his reasoning behind his first significant prime-time lineup change in a decade: attracting more young people to the predominantly older channel. He used Fox’s highly rated show “The Five” as a marker for bringing youth into the Fox tent."One indisputable attribute of Ailes is that he knows numbers forward and backward, both in the ratings and political arenas. In the former, his network has long been the top dog for total viewers, but lately hasn’t had much to brag about in the advertising-important 25-54 age demo. According to Nielsen, in the second quarter of 2013, Fox lost 11 percent of its younger viewer audience as compared to the same time in 2012. Over the last two years, Fox has had a median age of 65-plus for both the full day and for its prime-time lineup. Younger people fleeing the network, specifically in prime time, goes back even further, as the prime-time numbers in the demo have taken a nose dive for five years straight, down from 557,000 to 379,000 in 2013. But what’s causing Ailes even more despair? He knows that this 65 median age number is probably much higher, as Nielsen doesn’t provide exact age numbers for viewers older than 65. Ultimately, the former presidential campaign operative knows he can be looking at a network whose majority audience is a decade or two from biting the dust." "At the end of the day, you can insert a slightly younger face on-screen, play musical time slots with your anchors, invest your time and resources in digital, but your network’s message is what people, old or young, gravitate toward. Which means Roger Ailes will eventually be met with a monumental decision: change his network’s DNA to a more moderate version to stave it off from extinction, or ride out into the sunset with the older folks that got him to No. 1 in the first place."

TFS update: today's lead story was the Aussie kid gunned down by three teens in Oklahoma because they were "bored". (Bored in Olklahoma? Who knew?) Of course, it only took a few minutes for one of Roger Ailes' toadies to try to use it to smear Obama. But hey, coming up is a promising look at which of The Five has the messiest office! Aww, my TV was accidentally turned off and I'm too lazy to turn it back on.

After a predictable segment on MLK, TFS moved on to the big Miley Scandal. What are they complaining about? It's Free Enterprise, amigos! Whatever it takes to bring in the ratings, which means BIG PROFITS!!! Just like Fox News.

I love the way TFS spun the statistics just out that the growth of wealth is pretty much been limited to the top 1% of Americans in the last few years. Of course it's all Obama's fault, according to TFS. Pretty funny coming from a bunch of stooges working for corrupt billionaire Murdoch.

communities.washingtontimes.com/neighborhood/what-world/2013/sep/25/bob-beckels-rants-about-islam-are-positive-flawed/"CHARLOTTE, September 25, 2013 – Whenever there is an Islamic terrorist attack anywhere on the planet, if Muslims do not respond then Bob Beckel will. The token liberal voice on FOX News Channels’ popular afternoon political talk show The Five has had more than his share of personal rants against so-called “moderate Muslims” when they do not condemn Islamic terrorist attacks. The veteran political advisor turned broadcaster never fails to hold back his deep convictions against Islamic extremism. Typically there is plenty of sound and fury during one of Beckel’s tirades which become increasingly incomprehensible as his voice rises and muffled words are lost in a frenzy of mumbled jargon." Beckel is making it hard to watch TFS. The alleged liberal's Islamophobic rants are just too nauseating.

The Five can barely contain their glee at the weakness of the OC startup. They should enjoy it while they can.

Tuned into Murdoch's Five Stooges to see what the Fox Faux Outrage is today. Obamacare, of course. They even had Charles Krauthammer subbing, who seems to be the right's golden boy of the moment. Here's what I'm wondering: is the GOP putting all it's eggs in one basket by running against Obamacare and almost nothing else? Maybe that's enough to win if nothing REALLY important happens between now and November, such as Wall Street having a meltdown. Again.

Today's news from TFS: it's cold, thus global warming is a hoax. So just keep drilling, boys.

So Murdoch's tools on The Five today were trying to redirect the public's attention from Christiegate to Gates's criticism of Obama, which is fine with me. The story of why Obummer stabbed the anti-war Left in the back is much more interesting than sleazy Jersey politics.

Wow, is this a slow news week or what? The lead story on TFS is some trash-talking football player. I guess no news is good news, as they say.

So today's lead story on TFS was the security "problems" at the Sochi Olympics. Apparently paranoia about the terrorism bogeyman is keeping people away in droves. Welcome to the "free" world, Russia. Now go f**k yourselves.

Is there anyone Murdoch's money can't buy? The latest blowhard to take Rupert's 30 pieces of gold is James Carville, Southern boy gone bad. But what is interesting is: have the villains at Fox News finally figured out they won't be increasing their ratings sticking to Right Wing Fantasyland? That the supply of old white people is limited and shrinking? I have read the average age of Fox Viewers is 68, much older than other networks.
