For my taste “Private Messages” is easily overlooked, it seems to hide off screen. You can change message notification via email and/or an alert box.
Click on messages Click on preferences
Under Notification set your notification preferences.
The board is new territory; if you discover something that makes life smother, post it here.

A cool feature. From the Info Center, see the Forum Statistics box, see 15 most recent post, click and it gathers all post from the threads and displays with full functionality, a great time saver. For a quick demonstration click below. sandiegoscene.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=recent

A few have asked how can I receive email notification if a thread or threads receive new post.
Click on the thread you want to watch.
Scroll to the bottom of the page. On the left there will be page #, search icon and a bookmark icon.
Click on the bookmark icon, the page will be reloaded.
Click on your profile icon
Click on bookmarks
Click on manage bookmarks
From the drop-down select email - that’s it you will receive an email when a thread is updated.
You can manage multiple bookmarks from here add and remove as you wish

Would you consider enlarging the text in quotes? They are quite small.

Default size Would you consider enlarging the text in quotes? They are quite small. Size = 2 Would you consider enlarging the text in quotes? They are quite small. Hatch, I've looked at the configuration switches and have not found an option to auto sized quoted text. You can do it manually by selecting the text and clicking the size icon (top row second from end.) I will post the question on the support board. size=2size=3size=4Click quote for this post to see coding options.

OK CM, heres a tech question maybe someone can answer. I am waiting next week for Dell tech to come out but maybe I can fix it first.
I bought a Dell XPS 720, fitted with 2 8800GTX video cards in SLI. A week before I bought a new 24" monitor replacing the Dell 22" one I had. When I connected the DVI connection to the top video card, the computer does not see the screen. The screen works with this computer which has one video card, a 8600GS.
The new video cards don't have HDMI connections for SLI.
So Dell had me try everything, disconnect the SLI. Connect every connector on the back of the cards. I tried to connect it to the old monitor and nothing.
What did I not try???

Also, if you could possibly post pictures of your set up. That'd help diagnose it a lot. My profession is computer tech, so I may be able to assist with a visual or more info.

I out of my league here but usually with SLI you have to have DVI to DVI or HDMI to HDMI, converters do not work.
My guess is nybound is looking for an aerial photo of your mother board, anyway sounds like nybound is best to help.

CM,
For a couple days now, I only get the "post reply," none of the other options like preview, spell check, etc. What am I doing wrong?

Nikki, you have two options. Quick reply is to do what you have done. Your second option: scroll to the last post, you will see the “Quick Reply” box lower left, to the right in the blue bar you will see the “reply” icon, click and you will see the “preview” and “spell check” buttons just below the input box. You may also (third option) click the “quote” icon and remove the “quoted” text, I will frequently do that when I’m too lazy to scroll to end-of-page.

I tried to put a custom avatar up by entering the URL, but it didn't work. Any hints?? I am assuming you are in the "Profile" Modify Profile area: Scroll down to the Avatar URL and type in the full URL. (I typically pull up the site of where the avatar is posted and copy the URL from the browser address line and paste it into that area) (mine shows the following: www.dolphie.com/Avatars/avatar0660.jpg)The URL needs to be on the web and not on our computers. Sometimes the size of the Avatar is relevant. This site seems to be ok with 100 x 100 mine is 96x96.

So I still don't understand why it doesn't work. It just put an empty box up with an X in it.

It may be protected or a format that is not accepted.
