Reading the sports section in the UT,I came across an article suggesting the Chargers may want to trade LT.Big Mistake.Being a high performance machine, breakdowns can be expected.LT trying to compensate for 1 injury sustained another. This is not a trend of breaking down or any trend of any kind.LT will be healthy next year and with Merriman back on Defense and some of the shake and bake going on with the coaching staff(firing offensive coordinator and secondary coach)should put an urgency to win among the entire organization.Trading LT would be the same as when Boston traded THE BABE to New York. Please keep this curse under wraps.

The fact is LT will be 30 years old; he has been in the NFL many years beyond the average running back. There has never been a successful running back over the age of 30. If the Chargers thought about trading LT they are one year to late with Turner now in Atlanta. Even on the trade block there is not a lot of value for LT. I say keep him and draft a RB and let him work with LT for a year. LT will retire after the 2009 season.

I hate the old saying all things come to an end. LT is now among the best RB in football history and I agree with you CM RB don't perform well over 30 years old, but he maybe the best 30 year old RB in history. I couldn't see this guy in another uniform, or walking into the Q scoring TD's for another team. I also concur keep LT and draft a RB but not from the 1st round, I would love for AJ to reserve that pick for Rey Maualuga from USC.

I just caught a quick look at the UT today seems AJ has read our blog and taking our advice, draft a RB and renegotiate LT’s contract. The best we can hope for.

LT had better sign a new contract and realize he can't be the workhorse running back anymore. He would be so much better if he would just step aside and retire. This is what happens to even the great ones. It happens overnight. Only the ones that are surrounded by a balanced offense and don't have to carry the ball 35 times a game last longer like Thomas with Dallas. I remember watching Walter Payton and he was beaten to a shred and he to me was probably the most durable running back of our time and the best QB he played with was McMahon and thats not saying much.

Should have traded LT a year or two ago and kept Michael Turner. AJ complains about the Chargers...the team HE traded for. Had to get rid of a Coach that got them to 14-2 for a Coach that went 8-8. May not do that well this year. AJ is the one constant in this equation. LT is like A-Rod, can't hang in the Playoffs.

Sometimes there is not a right or wrong there is only the wise thing. trading LT would not have set well with the fans. Turner is another story the man is a proven looser why in the hell would anyone hire a person that excels in failure. Norv Turner will never be a winner if he achieves mediocrity he'd be happy
