hahaha... ya, TMI... gotta go wash out my mental eyes now.
I was told that Keyan (sp?) pepper works to keep cats out of the dirt? Anyone know any better idea? The moustraps didnt work for me here this time, they walk around them now. And we cant shoot pistols in the city....

It has blood products, cayenne pepper and some other organic products. It seems to work with the squirrels, cats, etc. Until it rains of course. Just be careful you are not standing with the wind blowing your way. LOL

I used Cocoa Mulch when we had a cat problem - supposedly the cats don't like the texture and/or smell. Now, I just read that it may be harmful to dogs.

I will try it.... see, I laid in some new dirt with the first bushes I put in and the cats love it. I am getting ready to buy a few tons of dirt to fill in a new flower bed for the wife out front, and I figure it will become like Disneyland for the neighborhood cats, they will go on a shitting spree.
Thanks.

It was a wonderful day to work outside, light breeze, puffy clouds overhead and 67 degrees. I took my break by stripping down sunbathing on the deck over the pond. Unfortunately I fell asleep and my ass is sunburned. Rub your rump with vinegar, either apple cider or regular white, every hour or so. Actually, don't rub -- baste gingerly. You will wake up feeling mucho better.

You know once they start using it - that will remain their cat box and it will continue to attract other cats. One option is to bring some coyote attractant and let the coyotes feast away ... *evil grin* The theobromine in chocolate is supposedly bad for dogs - but how many dogs do you know that eat mulch? (I say supposedly as my brother's dog LOVES chocolate. One day my brother had the dog in the car and a box of unopened chocolates that had been given to him. The chocolates were covered with other items in the front passenger seat. The dog was in the back seat. While my brother was gone - the dog carefully opened that box of chocolates and carefully lifted the majority of the chocolates out of their little brown paper cups. My brother did not immediately notice as there was not a mess. Once settled and on the road - he reached over to get a chocolate and found there was just a couple left - out of a FULL unopened box!!! The dog never got sick. The dog still LOVES chocolate. lol My brother does try to keep chocolates away from his dog... now that he has read about theobromine. *** disclaimer *** this does not mean it would be wise to try to feed dogs chocolate.) If it keeps the cats away - go for it. If it were me - I would put the Uncle Ian's down, then the cocoa mulch and see what occurs after that. Then sprinkle some Uncle Ian's or Cayenne Pepper on the top of the cocoa mulch. Just be careful with the winds though. LOL it does hurt when it gets into the eyes.

There are sure-fire solutions, but I dont want to use the dish of antifreeze..... so will continue other things. If your suggestions dont work, maybe rig up some spring-loaded snakes..... see if that works.

It was 69 degrees when I turned on the news at daylight this morning..... the weather-babe said the high would be 64..... as it turned out, she was close! Its cool/chilly here, and windy. I worked on the front of the house for about 4 hours. Came in to watch Beck and warm up... and starting the refelting-the-pool-table project. Never did this before, should be interesting. We kicked the Bowflex into gear last nite, anytime my legs get sore or jumpy, I work them out on the machine.... takes it away immedietly! Today is arms and back, I never go into it with a plan, I just go till it hurts, rest, then do it again.

The theobromine in chocolate is supposedly bad for dogs - but how many dogs do you know that eat mulch? ;D I do! Hahaha! My dog has a lot of weird quirks... like barking at airplane contrails. Not at the smaller airplanes that fly over our house, but the jumbos thousands of feet in the air.

I buried chainlink fence to keep dog from digging out of dog run, might try that or chicken-wire, dogs don't like that on their paws.
