"The needs of the Many out weigh the One" - Spock Sounds downright Socialist to me...

"The needs of the Many out weigh the One" - Spock Sounds downright Socialist to me... That's what I thought when I heard it in the Star Trek movie! Then they messed up the USS Enterprise to bring that damn whale back from the beyond to save Earth! Now it has spread to some Nasty Sea Rat Seals in La Jolla....

And it is just that thought which makes the difference between being a winner and loser. You do not think the enemy waits?

... You do not think the enemy waits? And let there be no doubt that the enemy is waiting. We trained and armed the Taliban to fight against the Soviets. We trusted them. We gave them Stinger missiles. We trusted them to use them against Soviet helicopter gunships. We gave them RPG's to destroy Soviet BMP's. We trusted them to not use them against us. Now, we are mounting a surge in Afghanistan with an end game in plain sight. It is our intention to train and arm an Afghan army to take over when we depart. And we will trust them again.

Hatch there may be an appropriate "end game" in arming both sides so they can kill each other and save the world by default.

Will they begin to rage, and act, against the machine rather than for it? That is the question my son had for me, as he began to understand the meaning of Killing in the Name Of. And sadly, it seems that no amount of revelations of the horrors the US has brought to Iraq will succeed in waking Americans up to the reality of what has been wrought on Iraq, Afghanistan, and increasingly at home, in their name." Morality is mutable, and changes with time. We now have a more than one generation of young people who accept endless American wars as a simple fact of life, and perhaps they are right.

Maybe it shouldn't be so, but it is! Maybe they also realize that Al Qaida and the radical factions allied with them have been breeding their fighters for many decades. How many children every day are born into the worlds worst violators of Human Rights (the radical groups)? One day it will end but it will take the defeat of us or the radicals! That is, until the next villian comes along. But by then we may not be the worlds police as we are expected to be today. Unfortunately, I doubt that the U.N. will have a real fighting force either. So, will China step up? If not, who?

Who needs a stinking point? Still, the name of this thread suggests something, doesn't it? Let's just say when people in the West suggest we are poor innocent victims of Islamic aggression, there is much more to it.

When the throat-slitters and head-loopers are in prison or six feet under I’ll give a rats ass, until then piss on’em.
