ok.. I did a clean install on what will be my storage machine. It went very easy and quick, I was surprised.
Now I am trying to access it from my other machines and there lies the problem... does it only see and let in other Win 7 machines? I havent worked at it too long, but if it wont share files with XP and Vista, it is useless to me and I will put something older on it.

It should. I haven't tried doing that, but I don't think they changed it (CIFS).

I agree it should... but it wont, YET....my network has XP, Vista, and now Win7..... they can see me (XP), but I cant see them.....

well, I am taking the plunge and loading up Win 7 tonite.... on a clean drive. I am keeping my XP drive in tact tho, just in case. I have the laptop next to me, in case I need info or help.

OK.. I dumped Win 7 on my main machine.... I like Win 7, but am having too many isses with old software, older motherboard hardware/driver issues, and wierd things happening. So, I am back on my origional XP drive and all is well.
