I don’t care much for professional sports, for me pro basketball ranks up there with crotch rot. I will watch pro football and baseball, the latter my preference. Overall I’d say college sports is as close as you can get to honest pure sport and if it were not for the perversion of political correctness T-Ball would be enjoyable.
The College Super Bowl airs Saturday, the game between Florida and Alabama is the World Series, it is College Super Bowl at its finest. There are scalpers that are willing to offer a $100.00 off per ticket if you buy four or more. Four or more at $2,500 each. This game is big time shit, the SEC Championship.
Western teams don’t have roots as deep as the south but it does not make the west any less passionate. The Mountain West has 3 teams in the Top 25, what other conference can make the same claim.
Florida v Alabama is important to San Diego, it is important to San Diego State. TCU wins on Saturday TCU will be number three in the nation, a team buster into the BCS, TCU a Mountain West team in SDSU’s conference.
Its Huge.
SDSU Aztec football is struggling but we are rebuilding. State has won twice as many games this year as last, but there is major trouble in athletics at SDSU. I’m really hopeful there will be a solid positive change. Jeff Schemmel did some good things on campus, but he also screwed up some things. I’m sad Jeff is leaving under these circumstances but I think it is best for the program Jeff moves on. SDSU is on the verge of becoming a 4 sport school. There are few 4 sport schools in the nation and those schools receive massive amounts of money to fund academics and athletics. SDSU needs an AD that will fast track the present course. SDSU football must fast track for its survival, the Q is in jeopardy, there goes SDSU football and there goes millions to SDSU education and the community.
Florida by 7, TCU becomes number 3 in the nation. TCU goes to a big bowl game and even if TCU takes a dump, SDSU receives $500,000. The conference teams are compensated equally with a conference team bowl appearances.
Boise State desires to join the Mountain West; their inclusion would bring millions to Sand Diego, the Mountain West and SDSU. The fate of the Chargers impacts SDSU, both play at the Q. No Chargers no Q. No Q, no SDSU football, no SDSU Football less enrollment, less education, less money to the university, less money to the community. Less value to America’s Finest city.
Who cares if you likes sports or not you’re human if you don't support funding education.
Go FloAls

Turk, I am with you re: Pro sports. What used to be a fun afternoon watching truly gifted athletes has turned into watching a bunch of spoiled princesses in a game with rules that keep the little princesses oddly protected whilst the players cheat and cuss their way forgetting about the fans. The sports athletes used to be people to look up to - not any more. I have never been a basketball fan - it just does not and has not interested me. Baseball I still enjoy and I do love winning teams. Now - College Football !!!! Those kids are GREAT. The Coaches are even GREATER. To me - it is not just about the game - it is the way these coaches care about the kids. Watching the kids play to the very end - NOT GIVING UP! Wow... I know some adults that could learn from them. I love the way Coach Kelly is working with Blount from Oregon Ducks. The Coach cares more about the person the kid is and will become than he does about winning/losing. Even though the kid is off suspension - he still has to earn the teams respect back. I also liked observing the AZ Wildcats' coaches work - you could tell he did his homework and taught his kids well. They may not have been as great a team as some - but I tell you - they fought hard to be in the Rose Bowl contention. They learned from their coach and the game was strategized to counter Masoli and James. It worked until Masoli figured a way around that. These kids are taught good sportsmanship, never give up, strategies, endurance and more. GREAT tools. Great games. I do enjoy College Football.
