That might have been the best pass protection game I've seen the Chargers play.
Chargers WIN!!!!!!

This should be a great game. The key for the Chargers is to stop the Jets run game, my prediction.
Chargers 27 Jets 22
Almost time to load up the grill and pack the cooler. If you see an old farm truck in the parking lot with grill in the bed and two old guys ogling over the ladies say hi the beer is on me.

Chargers made to many deliberate penalties, played to conservative on offense and the defense started losing ground near the end of the second quarter and never recovered. One of the greatest field goal kickers MISSED 2 attempts as well. One would have tied it and the other would have made a win. Chargers just didn't play well this game! Same comment even if they would have won. They just didn't get it all together! Another pre-season without a Super Bowl appearance. They made it only once in the franchise history and they really were not a good team THAT year! Go figure. Wonder how long Turner will be kept around??? Beaten by Marty Schottenheimer's son no less!

Turn out the lights the party's over. It was a pretty pathetic example of self destruction. I had to stop watching.

Small consolation: The Jets didn't win. The Chargers lost.
It was almost like someone told them during half time to throw the game.
Eighty-four yards in penalties??? L.T. with only 24 rushing yards in a half? 298 passing yards and no win? An all-pro kicker blowing three field goals, each in his No Fail comfort zone?
... and in OUR HOUSE?

My sister - an AVID football fan and NOT a fan of the Chargers - felt for the Chargers. She said the kicker had a voodoo curse on him... had to have... she has seen him kick before and the short kicks he had to do a high schooler could have done in their sleep. She could understand a 50yd... but a 30yd? The Chargers gave it away - they had the game in the first half. For me - I am not a Charger fan... never have been. I do not like when a team chokes at the end or at the end of a season. They seem to quit when the going is tough. It is one of the reasons I am so impressed with teams like the Tide, Ducks - they keep going even in the last seconds of the game. They do not QUIT - they fight hard even when all the chips are against them. Young men learning GREAT lessons for life - I respect them more than many of these prima dona pros. ***I know I know... how can I be a Southern Cal gal and not like the Chargers... I have heard it all before ... so go ahead and try - I have already heard it. ***

Pathetic game. In the second half it seemed as if the Jets’ defense knew the play call. This game was played conservative and reckless at the same time. From where I was sitting everyone was questioning the on-side kick. The dumbest move of the season. Turner is an idiot. Stupid, stupid play calling. How does the LA Chargers sound?

My sis said the same thing - plus a few others I chatted with. I missed the first half and got in on the last minute of the game.
