Yes those couple of tweets of the world wide interweb are hateful toward America. But applying them to an entire religion is senseless. As senseless as saying Westboro Baptist rch protests are indicative of the feelings of all Christians. Pamela Geller does nothing but take the worst examples of the worst terrorist-supporting Muslims' behavior, like these tweets, and apply them to all Muslims and all of Islam. The plain fact is she is extreme bigot. Like, beyond belief. She would like nothing less than the complete expulsion of all Muslims from North America. So it is understandable that she pulls the stunts she does and makes the connections she does. What is not understandable that so many people who are otherwise intelligent and open-minded, bother to give her the time of day or play into any of her circus, ever. Don't disagree on all points. Geller is a nut case. I get what you are saying but I don't think you get what I'm saying. My exposure to Muslims includes a couple of years working in the middle east and is exactly what Geller posted. Every second, every day, I expected it to be my last. I was there like many others, mega bucks. I do get what you are saying, about your experience. Geller just mixes a lot of shit up. She's showing tweets of one or two America-haters and suggesting this proves every Muslim on the planet is dangerous and deranged. She's not even being true to your experience. Your experience was real, not tweets. |
