From the NYT: “ Europe Moves to Fill Weapons Gap Amid Doubts About U.S. Commitment to Ukraine.” Are we making the Europeans fight their own unhappy wars? I doubt it. Then again, we have to get ready to fight to keep control of the Western Pacific. Gen Z, are you ready to lay down your lives to “save” Taiwan?

Seemingly not many people paying attention to the faltering Neocon Crusade in the Ukraine anymore. Regime change in Kiev looks more likely now than a regime change in Moscow.

As I’ve said before, this is good. Ukraine and Russia fighting over little villages, both sides making advances in hundreds of meters instead of hundreds of kilometers. The longer they keep this up the better.

It’s appearing more and more NATO’s proxy war on Russia is faltering. And it seems more likely that there will be a regime change in Kiev instead of one in Moscow. Or not. Will Biden have to run again with a defeat in Ukraine? Makes me laugh. But what makes me worry is what extreme measures NATO may take in the face of impending defeat.

Ukrainian defenses may be crumbling, but hey! They blew up an amphibious warship! Putin should surrender!

I think something I have claimed for a while (along with many others, of course) is that America will continue to dominate the world. Until it goes broke. And the logjam over pouring more billions into Zelensky’s war may be proving the point. Or not. I suspect he will be able to fleece taxpayers again eventually.

The “Ukrainian Ch ur hill” Zelensky has fired his top General. The Neocon fantasy of humiliating Russia seems to be unraveling, after they have littered the Steppes with thousands of Ukrainian and Russia bodies. And yet the Neocon enablers still brag how they are “degrading” the Russian military with no dead Western soldiers. I wish I trusted Trump to put an end to this disaster without even more war.

The cliche goes “Those that do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it”. The problem with that is that what people have learned differs. The only lesson that the Neocons have learned from 20th Century history is the “lesson” of Munich, and everything we’ve been doing for the last 80 years have been based on that. Maybe it has worked. But is it valid for us in 2024? Is deterring Russian “aggression” by arming the Ukrainians really working? The spark of WWI was Russia “deterring” Austo-Hungary from attacking Serbia.

Tried to watch a podcast from The Telegraph named “Putin can still be crushed”, a pep rally for the pro Zelensky crowd. Nothing but Russia bashing. ZZZZZZZZZZ. How many Americans are stilll buying that the Ukrainians are “fighting for us”?

From the NYT: “Asked About Sending Western Troops to Ukraine, Macron Rules Out Nothing.” Are the Europeans really that insane? And there are America politicians crazy enough to follow in their footsteps.

I’m hearing that Abrams tanks have gone into action, but I haven’t seem any burnt out examples online yet. Maybe they are so good they aren’t being destroyed. Of course, even the best weapon is useless if used incorrectly.

Things are looking bad for the Neocon dream of humiliating Russia in Ukraine, both on the battlefield and in the growing threat of Trump returning to the WH. If Trump doesn’t stab his America First supporters in the back like Obama stabbed his anti-war supporters in the back by doubling down in Afghanistan. Can Trump be trusted? I wouldn’t bet the farm on it.

I’ve heard that in the South the Civil War has been called “The War of Northern Aggression.” Meanwhile in Ukraine, everyone knows that it’s Russian aggression. Well, not everyone.

They were a long time coming, but F-16s are becoming operational in Ukraine. The question, as always, is how will they be deployed. They are a fifty year old design. Which generation are they?

Oh, I guess it’s not until July for operational F-16s. And I still wouldn’t bet on it.
