I didn't pay much attention to the Global Climate Change march last weekend. Though when I heard Sean Hannity mention "400,000 nutcases" on the radio today, maybe I should have. Still, marches over climate change seem as about significant as marches against some disease. And why would the developing world pay attention to some march in wealthy America?

america.aljazeera.com/articles/2014/10/8/tidal-floods-eastcoastcities.html"MIAMI BEACH — Many major U.S. coastal cities will face a huge surge in the number of tidal floods they experience as sea levels rise due to climate change, a new report has warned. The study, conducted by the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS), covered 52 cities on the Atlantic and Gulf coasts, from Portland, Maine, to Freeport, Texas, and predicts a dramatic increase in flooding linked to high tides over the next few decades. According to the UCS report, over half of the cities surveyed in the study will see three times the number of tidal floods in the next 15 years than they do now. In three decades, when sea levels are expected to have risen by at least one foot, nine of the locations are projected to see a tenfold increase, to about 240 floods yearly. Once considered a rare problem that was a result only of severe storms and hurricanes, tidal flooding will become commonplace in the near future, the report warns. The analysis paints a grim picture of homeowners’ “dealing with flooded basements, salt-poisoned yards and falling property values, not only because of catastrophic storms but because tides, aided by sea level rise, now cause flooding,” said co-author Melanie Fitzpatrick in a statement released by the UCS." Must be some kind of karma at work here, since it is the wealthy who can afford to live along the coastline in most places. So the folks who give money to the party that denies climate change are going to be the first ones affected. Quite amusing.

www.nytimes.com/2014/11/23/us/climate-change-threatens-to-strip-the-identity-of-glacier-national-park.html"GLACIER NATIONAL PARK, Mont. — What will they call this place once the glaciers are gone? A century ago, this sweep of mountains on the Canadian border boasted some 150 ice sheets, many of them scores of feet thick, plastered across summits and tucked into rocky fissures high above parabolic valleys. Today, perhaps 25 survive. In 30 years, there may be none. A warming climate is melting Glacier’s glaciers, an icy retreat that promises to change not just tourists’ vistas, but also the mountains and everything around them." But Fox News is telling me that there is no climate change, as does Sen. Inhofe of Oklahoma, who will be the next Environmental Committee Chairman. Not that it matters to me what things are like in 30 years. Especially since you Millennials don't seem concerned enough to get off your asses. If half the energy you pour into the NFL were directed at climate change you might have a fighting chance, but whatever.

Of course, maybe someone at Fox News forgot to tell the glaciers that global warming is a hoax.

Ah, my skeptical nature is kicking in on Climate Change again. Any theory that has the Davos crowd sounding warnings makes me suspicious. What are they trying to distract us from this time? Class War and inequality perhaps. Of course it is useful to them to have us worried about sea levels in 30 years instead of how globalization is destroying small farming right now. They say the "majority" of "scientists" are convinced of human-caused climate change, but "scientists" have been wrong before, and look how many of them jumped on the Cold War weapons research bandwagon that paid so well.

america.aljazeera.com/articles/2015/9/1/obama-wants-for-new-1-billion-arctic-icebreaker.html"President Barack Obama on Tuesday will propose a faster timetable for buying a new heavy icebreaker for the U.S. Arctic, where quickly melting sea ice has spurred more maritime traffic, and the United States has fallen far behind Russia in terms of resources. It's a move that has long been urged by Arctic advocates inside and outside the administration as the U.S. prepares for more shipping, mining and drilling in the region. But the vessels are valued at about $1 billion each, and the U.S. Congress would need to agree to pay for the expansion." Gosh, leave it to the Powers-that-be to try to find a way to profit from non-existent global warming instead of ways to protect people from non-existent global warming. Maybe Trump can open a floating casino at the North Pole.

america.aljazeera.com/articles/2015/11/9/world-halfway-to-2-degrees-c-warming-limit.html"This year, global temperatures are set to reach 1 degree Celsius (1.8 degrees Fahrenheit) above preindustrial levels for the first time, researchers said — a sobering halfway point to the warming limit of 2 degrees Celsius that many scientists say cannot be surpassed if the worst effects of climate change are to be avoided. “This is the first time we’re set to reach the 1 C marker, and it’s clear that it is human influence driving our modern climate into uncharted territory,” Stephan Belcher, the director of the U.K.-based Met Office Hadley Centre for Climate Science and Services, said in a news release issued Monday. Most world leaders and the United Nations agree that warming must be limited to 2 degrees Celsius by 2100. If it is not, many believe the planet is likely to see storms, droughts and floods increase in force and frequency." I know I will be drummed out of the environmental wacko crowd for this, but I am getting more skeptical by the day about the alleged climate change catastrophe that's "about" to happen. Or not. I can't help feeling that it is the Powers-that-be distracting us from real present-day problems, like the continuing Class War against immigrants and the poor. Even the Pope speaks about it, I believe because it is a "safe" issue, unlike criticizing America's wars in the Middle East. And really, am I supposed to give a crap about stormy weather in 2100? Especially after hearing about it from the Davos elites? Not happening.

www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-34960051"US President Barack Obama has said the UN climate conference in Paris could be a "turning point" in global efforts to limit future temperature rises. Negotiators from 195 countries will try to reach a deal within two weeks aimed at reducing global carbon emissions and limiting global warming to 2C (3.6F). Leaders from 147 nations have been addressing the meeting, known as COP21. President Obama urged negotiators to deliver a meaningful deal, because the "next generation is watching". He told delegates: "Climate change could define the contours of this century more than any other (challenge). "I came here personally to say the United States not only recognises the problem but is committed to do something about it." So what do war and climate change have in common IMHO? Both are used to "unite" the classes of a nation into a "common cause". All those climate protesters on the streets of Paris and around the world? Useful idiots.

www.thenation.com/article/your-brain-on-climate-change/"On Monday, the White House released a major report that tries to answer that question, drawing on research from eight federal agencies. The coming health crisis it describes is ugly, and wide ranging. An extra 11,000 premature deaths each year by 2030 from extreme heat waves; babies born too early, and too small; millions of children struggling to breathe because of rising pollution, ground-level ozone, allergens, and wildfire smoke; the spread of mosquito-born infections like West Nile virus and waterborne pathogens like Legionnaire’s disease; food contaminated with salmonella and E.coli, or leached of its nutrients, as rising carbon dioxide levels lowers the concentration of protein and essential minerals in wheat, rice, potatoes, and other crops. Even more startling are the report’s projections of how climate change will affect our brains. “Mental health consequences of climate change range from minimal stress and distress symptoms to clinical disorders, such as anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, and suicidal thoughts,” the report reads. It draws on a body of evidence linking the experience of extreme weather events, displacement, and other environmental degradation to mental illness. Even just hearing about climate change on the news, or reading reports like this one, can cause anxiety."
As much as the right's alarmism on the "terrorist" bogeyman is amusing, the left's alarmism on "climate change" may be even more amusing.

As I probably said before (I can't keep track. Too much work), the Billionaires may be able to buy elections, but they can't buy off Mother Earth. If global warming is real, and there might of been something we could do to delay it, I doubt electing Trump will be helpful. He has already talked about reviving that stupid pipeline.
