Interesting that the point man for the Repubs in this matter is Jeff Sessions-he was denied a seat in 1986 on the federal courts due to his hostility to civil rights. He unsuccessfully prosecuted an aide to MLK who was registering voters, he had said" use to think the KKK was OK", and changed his mind when he learned some of them were "pot smokers". He attacked the NAACP as "un-American" and " Communist-inspired" that "forced civil rights down the throats of people". In an interview with FOX News, he said he was concerned that the PRLDEF brought "several race discrimination lawsuits for minorities". Based on a report by Ian Millhiser, Huffington Post 7-9-09 Sessions probably was refering to the "Communist inspired" NAACP due to the fact that several founding members were socialists who embraced Communism. W.E.B. Du Bois, the only black in the original administration, was one such individual who championed Stalin, supported Nazi Germany (until he learned of the extermination of the jews) and supported the Japanese invasion of Manria as being liberators. He was the father of PanAfricanism and he also believed in black seperatism! I think these last two items could very lean on being un-American! You may not like Sessions but his history is correct!

Paint drying and Sotomayor speaking, my money is on paint. The woman is SLOW in speech (Jack Oliver speach.) Her mind reminds me of the cement truck traveling up a hill with the cement tank turning ever sooooooooooooo slowly.
Did you catch those hardball questions from Leahy, “Judge will you have an open mind?” Too bad the good folks of Vermont have to pay for that buffoon.
So far my dog barking on command is more impressive.
Why waste time - confirm her and get it over, but I hope someone gets the youtube vid of the liberals bending over and grabbing their ankles.

I feel your pain (with a Clinton tone) delivered by "Chris "Tingle" Mathews.
I watched the first two this morning and was glad Sessions held her to clarifying her positions even though it means nothing until she delivers a verdict/opinion. I could not consider listening to Feinstein or Feingold so booked a root canal.

As I've said before, people can change when they get on the Supreme Court. You might be pleasantly surprised at her decisions, and the Democrats might be unpleasantly disgusted.

Tired- You failed to mention so much historical background, including the fact that many of the founders weres of the NAACP were mainstream whites. Sessions is a racist and it can't be sugar coated. The performance of the Repubs was laughable. I see 5 to 10% more hispanics fleeing to the Democrats. With over 300 cases, they mostly asked questions about her "background". One of the clowns read off negative reports by (losing) attorneys, a few out of hundreds. Wish I had more time

Tired-In the first half of the last century, many black intellectuals toyed with communism and socialism, they saw it as the only alternative to lynchings, killings and economic oppression. Sessions was talking about the civil rights era and you ignored his pro KKK comments. Why are you defending this turkey? Comparing the NAACP to the KKK is utter nonsense. How many people did the NAACP murder or torture?

As long as the dems keep taking charge and our government is more representative of all the different racial groups in our country, I am very happy and proud of our country. even if the GOP is going nuts with personal and baseless attacks. those attacks are only a reflection of what is inside their hearts anyway for all to see. As a christian Im amazed at the anger and hatred the GOP spits out. Since the GOP claims to be the Christian based party, it realy looks bad for them to act this way. The dems dont claim to be based in a religion so they dont have that hypocrocy.

Can you provide examples of baseless attacks and hatred (specifically the hearings?)
I for one am glad she and every nominee is asked tough question, certainly better than Leahy bending over grabbing his ankles. But I guess libs are so superior they are above questioning.
So it was okay with you when Martini Teddy suggested Alito was a bigot?
Trying to dialog Jack Oliver but if all you got is left wing talking points and the same familiar post I’ll pass.

Maybe they will include you in some of that Affirmative Action Education soon - Grammar 101 I heard Obama tell all the out of work autoworkers yesterday he is allocating $18 Billion to community college funds to aid them in finding one of those new stimulus jobs. The opportunity comes complete with a "Blue Tick Blood Hound" to sniff out those jobs!

The usual suspects-RL,SH,MS,GB,RH,BC Unfortunately I had an important bid today and payroll so I was not able to listen to the radio or remaining interviews with the good Judge. I am looking forward to tomorrow when the Fire Fighters get their opportunity to confront her with the claims you mention. It does have the appearance of racism when you look at the detail of that Ricci case? I am not sure it is any more or less than the rest of us but then again we aren't being appointed to a life time Supreme Court post either.
