The results of the Facebook poll asking "Should Obama be killed?" Just over 90% said no, 5% yes, 2.6% maybe, and1.9% yes if I lose my healthcare. Close to 10% think it would be OK to kill Obama. www.rawstory.com/2009/09/poll-should-Obama-be-killed/I'm not sure why, the link goes to the main page of RawStory, not to this report. Scroll down to "Blogs/Media" section, "Secret Service Probes..." This is a bogus poll as it doesn't refer to "who" has an interest in his death. I posted an article from a Canadian media source that stated that the left has more of an interest in getting rid of him as he inhibits their agenda at a time they have ultimate power. The perfect storm style crime as the right has been listed as the hate mongers who want to do him in. They can pull it off and point the finger. All the left lemmings have already lined up for them! Most of that 5% COULD POSSIBLE be from the LEFT! Do you have any facts to deny that? Of course it is a bogus poll. To begin with, there is no control over who is voting; a legitimate poll tightly controls the sample as to age, party affiliation, identity as conservative liberal, region, etc in order to get a representative sample. It is possible that the "yes" voters were leftists, although that is rather a long shot. I suspect some were smart alec kids who think it is funny.

I've never considered myself a racist but I dislike the way we use white kids as the barometer of success in schools."We must close the gap between white graduates and minority grads"this is something that seems racist in its self. Also "hate crimes"is another unfair tool used to promote one type of person over another. How can justice be fair and blind if we believe one type of people need more protection than another? We are all created equal unless you can benefit from claiming we are not.Hate crimes should be struck down as unconstitutional based on our equality under the law.Just like the cartoon showing the young boy putting on a bikini, sure you could be a boy with a bikini on at the beach but don't expect not to be harassed for your silliness.

IrishMike, I agree with you. A crime is a crime. Period. A rape is a rape. Period Instead of bashing white kids for being successful - why not looking at why the others are not successful. Could it possibly be because their own community leaders tell them they MUST have special circumstances to succeed or the whites will take what is rightfully the others? For the longest time females did not perform well in math and sciences. Why was that? They were told they were not good in those disciplines - those were fields for males. Well, guess what? There are incredible women in those fields. I can attest to a 4th grade teacher who refused to call on me for math questions. She would call on the boys but never on me. I excelled in and LOVED mathematics. Same with a chemistry teacher. She treated females as if they were unable to grasp chemistry. My earth sciences teacher was different. He was a father of a daughter who was incredible. Athletic and successful. He treated all students fairly. Incredible instructor. To this day - how many of you know of Aunties/Mothers/Grandmothers who think they are not good in mathematics? Yet they do things that are mathematical in nature. Why is that? It is how they were raised to think of females vs males. So... point is - if all are treated the same with the same steps to climb - WITHOUT crutches, other cultures would respect & understand that they have the same opportunities and same abilities . They can succeed without special treatment. JG - I cannot say that I am racist. I honestly do not look at people by race as I am horrible at figuring out the race of people. I see their essence more than anything. As I said in a different thread - I see people as tanning better than I do or not as well as I do. Other than that - I cannot tell you their race. Heck, I know ivory skinned, blue eyed, red headed full blooded latinos. On the other hand - let me hear an accent and I can tell you which part of the USA they are from and oft times which part of the world they are from. Accents are fascinating.

Speaking of accents, when we left Massasetts for Phoenix, Ihad the classic New England accent. I pronounced" half" as "hahf" and said "eh-yup" for "yes". The second or third day, the teacher asked me to go the the office to bring him a message. I wasn't used to his accent and didn't quite understand where I was to go, so I said "weyah, Mr. James?" The whole class burst out in laughter. Similar incidents happened and within a month I had pretty much "lost" my Massasetts accent.

I have a slight southern accent, though it comes and goes depending on the circumstance and the company I am with. I lived a number of years in Virgina. But, I spend a lot of time in New York and have roots in Arizona. I can be somewhat of a cameleon and blend in almost anywhere. Learning other languages has given another dimension to the ability to reproduce accents.
Oh, the tricks I've played.

I have wondered if it was a limitation of observation skills to be honest. I also think that is one of those 'wimmins' things in that we tend to describe people by who they are instead of how many men do - height, weight, scars, what they are driving, what they are wearing, etc. If someone comes into an area I am in - if someone asked me to describe them - I would definitely have captured their eyes (do they look at you or move around - do they register or are they too busy in their heads) and if they seemed to be a decent person (did they hold the door open or did they push their way in) - those types of things. I remember who (inside) they are more than what they looked like.

That is the most unique process I have ever heard for assessment of people. Good for you.
Men have no choice in how we describe someone because you wimmin always push the description to get that 'visual" from us. Just try telling someone about a person or person's behavior without being asked about race or ethnic origin - I find it hard to believe you wouldn't get the question numerous times over.
P.S. Racist is different than "Prejudice" right...Hardly.

And I also get away with just describing how the person was. Since I am horrid with figuring out races - I admit that up front and just describe to my best ability. Now - if you want me to describe a computer or network - I can take you to the nth degree and you will be pleading mercy as you will be on info overload.
