Hey Bruce and Jack
Did you experience difficulties signing up? Is there anything I should address to make signup, posting, etc. easier?

CM,
I thought the sign up process was straight forward and pretty easy. Some folks might be a bit uneasy giving out an email address to a site set up by someone other than a well known entity like a radio station, but they can always use a secondary address.

Jack, That is true and hopefully that will not discourage folks. I always create a unique email for every blog I participate in and track all the addresses in a spreadsheet. Generally I use gmail or hotmail, I think I have over 20 addresses.
Did you vote in the “Worst President” poll? I think it is pretty cool to have the ability to create a poll. It is a little to early to add Obama's name to the list. ;D

A person can participate as “Guest” although their features are limited.
I do like this format; it is easy to navigate and has tremendous flexibility.

If anyone is around go to the "chat room" i'm online now 10:13 a.m. Friday.
I would like to test chat out. you can enter any name as a login for chat "guest" works

I agree Judos to CM. What the heck karate too. Seriously this is a very easy sign up and a very easy format. I have some questions/suggestions How will you solicit new users. Will you make it a blanket invitation or will you recruit from KFMB? I guess some of the etiquette will have to be normed. There should be some kind of boundary (if anyone remembers Gary) but I think too much antiseptic will kill the host. This place has a good vibe already.

Larry,
Glad to see that you made it. If you like this place then a little promotion of the RR blog would help get some new members. We did agree to certain terms of conduct when we signed in, but you're right that policing this site could potentially overwhelm CM. At some point he will probably need to appoint a second in command to help patrol.

It may not be proper etiquette but I could post on the KFMB blog often enough advising folks there is an option. Word of mouth has always worked for me in other venture, like anything else it takes time. If many other the KFMB regulars join in then member’s will begat members.
I do not want people to regard this as CM’s blog I just merely made the effort to set it up and I’d be happy to continue. The blog is mostly parameter driven once set up it will not require very little maintenance. I hope folks will make suggestion how we can make this inviting place to dialog and have fun.

CM,
Is there a way to toggle back and forth to the chat room without having to log in each time? Or, should I just run it in a different browser tab?

CM, Is there a way to toggle back and forth to the chat room without having to log in each time? Or, should I just run it in a different browser tab? Good question, I ran it in a separate tab. i chatted with Larry to test it out i will continue to tinker with it, but my wife is on my case now to work around the house, so much for a day off

Larry, Glad to see that you made it. If you like this place then a little promotion of the RR blog would help get some new members. We did agree to certain terms of conduct when we signed in, but you're right that policing this site could potentially overwhelm CM. At some point he will probably need to appoint a second in command to help patrol. Larry and Jack I worked on this until about 2:00 a.m. today so things are a little fuzzy, however I did see the ability to assign a member “Moderator” status. The moderator can delete, move and edit post. Also the moderator can send warning messages and general message to specific users; the moderator can also delete and or ban users. I’m not sure how users are tracked other than login name. There is also a parameter list of words and groups of words, like the f-bomb, if used then a friendlier word is inserted and the member is sent a warning message, again the moderator can set up the word list, proboards provides a basic list if wanted. I do not think I have turned this feature on. If this thing is going to fly undoubtedly there will be spammers someone will need to delete their post and give them the boot. I prefer not to be the sole holder of the keys to the kingdom and recommend one of the old-timer originals be selected as moderator. Again I just made the effort to create this thing and take zero ownership. I suggest there be two moderators and some basic behavioral guidelines. I don’t think any of us want to stifle another or discourage folks from joining but a free-for-all results in chaos. You guys make the call, it’s everyone’s board. I do hope the regulars join in for some lively debate. If desired you can send me a private message to discuss further, I’m guessing it works but I have not tested messaging, I did not want to send a unsolicited message to anyone.
