Jack, why do you want to talk about my bush? I didn't bring up your limp noodle. OH, you mean the prez. Bush. You should know I would never vote for him. Not in our blood. Again, support what you stated though. I want to see you write something that backs up what you say. You always were one to jump on the bandwagon so that you can feel secure in what you believe. Just support what you say to hold up your end of the bandwagon!

I heard today that portable toilet rental for the inauguration will exceed 1.25 million dollars, does this prove once and for all liberals are really full of it?

Lou, I think the bar is set real low in regards to the bailout. Certainly Obama has to be able to make a bigger impact with the second half than Bush did with the first half. Perhaps we should revisit this conversation again in a year. At that point we can compare the lasting effects of Obamas increase in the debt to what W has to show for his contribution. Partisan to the end LOu. Based on O's statements the nation will be weighted with an enormous debt, thanks to both W & the fools, I laughingly call Congress (both incarnations) and apparently O is also adding to that mountain of debt. Certainly O is entitled to his celebration, after all, it is historic; but over 150 mil? when economic disaster is looming? Yes, as you say, the lasting effects from O's first year will be re-visited.

Not for a moment did I think anyone would interpret that as a slam on liberals, if it were posted in the Joke Center would it have the same meaning? What does hypocrisy smell like?

This inauguration cost less then one bombing run on Baghdad.
Oh what a great day for America and what great togetherness for our country....except for a few Conservo Klan members.
Money well spent. Time well spent. Democrats again shine and Conservos are booed by the crowd. America sees who hurt this country and who will save it.
What a great day!!!

Sorry Lou, we saw today what standing conservative voices have in America.....none. So where you think anyone, or anything stands is basically irrelevent. We'll wake you in 8 years. LOL.

Interpret it anyway you want Jack Oliver, create your own reality, this is a hopeless and senseless argument.

Oh CM,. there you go again.
Im just trying to understand what you meant, You said your statement proves liberals of full of what?
You then stated this is not an attack...
I again question your own words?
I am fully accountable for my words and stand by them and explain if not understood.
you failed to do so....
this is the REALITY OF YOUR STATEMENTS..at least stand by them.

Certainly O is entitled to his celebration, after all, it is historic; but over 150 mil? when economic disaster is looming? Yes, as you say, the lasting effects from O's first year will be re-visited. You missed the point. There is no way to provide the stimulus needed in any kind of pay as you go program. I heard the pay as you go talked about at the republican convention, just never saw any of it from any of the last three republican presidents. Obama is planning to increase the national debt. But he is planning to have re-built highways, the electrical grid, bridges and schools. Those are fixed assets that have value. They increase our productivity and help reduce liabilities (recent coal sludge disasters and bridge collapses come to mind). We cannot expect the energy grid to meet the demand of hybrid cars in its current capacity. These things have to be done. The difference between the debt Obama takes on and the debt W took on was what we end up with when they are finished. Nothing feels worst than taking your junk to the dump only to realize you are still paying for some of it. That is the mentality that needs to change. In addition to the 11 trillion in debt you remember that Bush added the prescription drug program that is another really big entitlement. Add up the current entitlement obligations and the national debt and each American owes 175,000. I think we will need better schools and roads if we are to ever retire that.

I thought the topic here was inauguration day and hope it goes well.It did go well.1.5 million people and no arrests!A diverse and happy crowd. It was beautiful.Aretha sang "My Country 'tis of Thee" beautifully. Too bad shes so heavy.A fantastic speech, well received, where it was pointed out the no one man can do it all,we,all of us,need to take responsibility and help where we can to get out of the mess we are in.So what how much the porta-potties cost. The cost of the inauguration is a drop in the bucket compared to the joy and pride many of us felt. I remember a story my grandmother told me as a youth. My uncle,5 or 6 at the time, told a gathering of guests for Thanksgiving(this was in the 30's) that he wanted to be president when he grew up.My great-grandmother looked at him and sharply said "boy, don't be talking nonsense like that, you gonna get in trouble someday, now be quiet and eat".
