Just in case you think I only point out American foreign policy blunders, I can think of dozens that Russia and China have made. I wouldn’t even know where to start. But invading Taiwan would be a huge one.

Trump’s crazy talk about NATO makes me think about the role it may or may not have made in the demise of the Soviet Union. Did it deter the Soviets from moving west, assuming they were even interested? We’ll never know for sure. But I always had the impression that NATO was an American invention, which would make Trump’s comments rather ironic. On the other hand, maybe Americans are getting fed up with Europe’s wars or rumors of wars. If they want to use the Ukrainians for a proxy war with Russia, maybe they should do so on their own. And maybe we don’t care about the Baltic states or even Poland or Finland. I’m not sure the Russians do either. Sorry for the long post.

It’s looking more and more like the Neocon Dream of regime change in Moscow, brought about by their proxy army of Ukraine, is not going to happen in the near future. No repeat of the West’s glorious victory over Russia in 1989 to 1991. It seems more likely of a regime change in Kiev. The finger pointing and recriminations should be awesomely entertaining. Let the spin begin!
