I know we kind of covered this subject in the 2012 election and new name for the GOP threads, but I thought having a more specific thread might be a good idea. I also know people might be sick of the subject, but I'm not, so bear with me.
Of course Democrats lose too, but the Republican defeat in 2012 is the most recent event.
More on this later.

I think both sides are out of touch but the republicans have nothing to give away, the democrats do. We’ve become an entailment society, until there is rebellion, civil unrest or civil war Obama and his ilk will prevail. Honestly I look for Obama to create/manufacture some extraordinary event to justify a third term. The man’s ego is larger than the universe. Freedom and the constitution are for whipping one’s ass, I’m just glad my roll of TP has Obama’s face on it.

Yes, that seems to be the conservative narrative: Obama won by promising freebies. If that is true, what is it that the GOP can offer voters? Harsh austerity, like is happening in Europe? Austerity makes some sense, but only if it is evenly distributed. Can you really ask the common man to live in austerity while the wealthy continue their nonstop party? That's asking an awful lot, and maybe it is partly why the GOP has fallen on hard times.

Yes the wealthy will party hardy, you can’t take that away from the liberal Hollywood elite or the Obama supporting corporate fat cats from Wall Street.

Well, to paraphrase the old saying, the Constitution and $3.75 will buy you a vanilla latte. But seriously, despite right wing paranoia, the Constitution will survive Obama. Plus, the Constitution is open to interpretation, which is why we have a Supreme Court. So how will it win elections for the GOP? Not that I'm someone who thinks winning is everything, but I'm sure the GOP would prefer to win.

I’m not sure the constitution will survive Obama, he’s evil incarnate times 10 thousand. Read Agenda 21, it is closer than one may think.
Since I’ve never been a republican, I have zero loyalty to the GOP, my agenda is freedom, ie I want my guns and I don’t want a scum-bag, self-serving, piece of filth president screwing around with my rights.
Screw the republicans and to hell with the democrats, I want a third, fourth, fifth party. Let’s party. I’ll buy the beer.

I think Turk has brought up something which IMHO may be another reason, as small as it is, that might help Republicans lose elections: The right tends to fall for Beckian conspiracy theories, which makes them look a little flakey for the average voter.

The truth about Agenda 21, that’s hilarious, I guess that really proves liberals don’t know the difference between fact and fiction.

Ever hear of George Orwell? Is 1984 a conspiracy? My point, Obama is a diabolical man capable of anything and will remain in power at all cost. Since the presidential election is a beauty contest I can hardly wait for the old hag Hillary facing off against the intelligent young buck Marco.

I don't know, it seems to me BO might be looking forward to 2017, when he can retire with a big fat pension and Michelle and him can go on permanent vacation on the taxpayer dime. What better outcome for a Chicago con man? I'm also not sure Hillary still has the drive to run in 2016. And you are right, she will look awful old by then. Of course, America did elect a grandfather figure in 1980, so why not a grandmother in 2016? And I'm not sure the GOP is smart enough to nominate Rubio. They may go with a rotten turd like Scott Walker or even a freak like Glenn Beck, another con man.
