I'm starting this thread to keep track of how many time the Presidential candidates of both parties pander to the Israel lobby. (See what happens when you leave, D.?)

Treble hooks are great because they are more reliable in setting. Small ones are for small fish. Large ones for large fish. Really big ones are for baby seals. They hold better when you hoist them out of the water and club them.
Why do BOTH parties appear to "pander" to the Israel lobby?

Is either party saying we ought to take a second look at our commitment to Israel? Hardly. So where do voters go who think our security is being given second place to Israel's?

Israel is very capable of taking care of herself. The problem I have is the Obama administration attempting to manipulate Israel, leave them alone and let Israel take care of business.
I will say if Israel is attacked by Iran then we honor our commitment with Israel and we bomb the shit out of Iran and be done with it, make it a 72 hour war, any more is weakness and wasteful.

news.yahoo.com/obama-visits-holocaust-museum-unveils-syria-iran-sanctions-174642095.html"After a solemn walk through Washington's haunting Holocaust Memorial Museum, President Barack Obama on Monday unveiled new sanctions targeting Iran and Syria and extended American aid in the hunt for Joseph Kony, the Lord's Resistance Army warlord. Obama, with Holocaust survivor and Nobel Peace Prize winner Elie Wiesel at his side, toured the museum and wordlessly lit a memorial candle in the cavernous Hall of Remembrance for the millions killed by Nazi Germany." "Obama, whom Republicans accuse of shortchanging Israeli security, also vowed he "will always be there" for the Jewish state. "When faced with a regime that threatens global security and denies the Holocaust and threatens to destroy Israel, the United States will do everything in our power to prevent Iran from getting a nuclear weapon," he stressed."

www.nytimes.com/2012/07/03/us/politics/romney-plans-trip-to-israel.html?_r=1&hp"For Mr. Romney, the trip is an opportunity to appeal both to Jewish voters and donors, whose overwhelming support of President Obama has softened, according to some polls, and to evangelical Christians, whose trust he is still fighting to win. At the March conference of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, the pro-Israel lobby known as Aipac, Mr. Romney vowed that Israel would be the destination of his first foreign trip as president, underscoring the fact that Mr. Obama has not visited here since his election, a sore spot among some Israel supporters." Would Romney reverse Obama's redeployment of our military to the eastern Pacific and away from the Middle East?

Would Romney reverse Obama's redeployment of our military to the eastern Pacific and away from the Middle East? Obama has set a policy to do away with the capability of fighting two or more theaters of war at the same time. Thus, Obama would have to leave one to prepare for another, ever if the job is not finished at the previous location (Middle East). A country must be prepared beyond just a single theater of war. If a conflict of sorts were to take place in the Pacific, do you not think Iran or some other country would not take advantage of that in the Mediterranean or Atlantic? I believe that Romney would recognize this and maintain a "BALANCED" military prepared for more than one theater. Meanwhile, gangs of blacks are going around New York and attacking the Jewish communities. I am sure this doesn't help Obama much either while his policies have done little for Israel and the Jewish people. Take it for what it is, but I do believe that Obama has sympathies towards Muslims. That is why he dances around Israel (he doesn't consider them when he supposedly braces Iran), his disregard for our flag (crotch salute) and disregard for our National Anthem.

That's the trouble with world domination: It's friggin' expensive! Trying to control both the Atlantic and the Pacific Oceans, PLUS controlling the Middle East, may be beyond our finite resources. Of course, maybe Romney can come up with more money to fund our adventures in the ME. Perhaps he could sell some of his houses, or have a garage sale with the Koch brothers. Of course since the Koch brothers are Libertarians, they might want to sell the Grand Canyon, Yosemite, and Yellowstone to the highest bidders. Themselves, probably.

news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/obama-signs-israel-military-aid-bill-eve-romney-165237880.html?_esi=1On the eve of Mitt Romney's visit to Israel, President Barack Obama signed into law a military aid bill for that staunch American ally at a much-publicized White House ceremony that highlighted the political advantages of incumbency. "What this legislation does is bring together all the outstanding cooperation that we have seen, really, at an unprecedented level between our two countries that underscore our unshakable commitment to Israel security," Obama said as he signed the measure at his desk in the Oval Office. Which candidate can out-pander the other? Stay tuned...

www.washingtontimes.com/news/2012/nov/29/senators-threaten-cut-palestinian-aid-retaliation-/"The U.N. General Assembly was expected to vote later Thursday to recognize Palestine as a “non-member observer state,” which Israel and its supporters fear would give Palestinians a chance to use the International Criminal Court against Israel. “This is a provocative, unhealthy step that will undermine the peace process,” said Sen. Lindsey Graham, South Carolina Republican. He is sponsoring an amendment along with Sen. Charles E. Smer, New York Democrat, to administer what amounts to a legislative spanking for the Palestinians." WHAT peace process? Israel does what it wants and we back them unconditionally.
